Thanks for the welcome from everyone. Lance turned me onto the site. Those were my two biguns from last year. Thanks for posting the pics Lance. The 2nd one is at the taxidermist. Really kinda funny. The bottom one was 13 1/2 lbs and I got that one first and brought right to the taxidermist. I got the top one a couple weeks later. That was just over 12lbs. The top one in my opinion is a much prettier fish and wish that one is at the taxidermist. Maybe this year as the top one went back down the hole to fight another day. I owe most all of my laker success to Lance though. He showed me the way and I am a laker finatic now. I was also told of the get together and I look forward to being apart of one next time.

Tightlines.

Welcome aboard, Dan!

I think I can safely speak for everyone here when I say "Any friend of Big Red is a freind of ours".

We do a little "Hardwater Party" over here at my house in the winter too, but the fishing sucks and camping isn't an option so there tend to be a few less punchlines and funny photos compared to the summer version.

But it seems as though every weekend there are guys fishing SOMEWHERE together so I'm sure we'll all cross paths plenty in the winter ahead.  Also, we are all going to be fishing Collins a lot this winter and will be staying at Reel Force's house on a regular basis if we're tipsy.  He just doesn't know it yet.  Well, now he does,I guess.

Hello all, I see a few faces on here I recognize so I figured I'd register and add my .02$.
My name is Mike(Mikey)and I spend just a little bit of time fishing.Mostly after bass and pike except in the winter time.Winter mostly pannies, perch, and the almighty lakers.Three years ago I didn't even ice fish but Lance got me hooked and now I am an addict.Lance told me about the sight and I came over and saw my ugly mug so I figured I might as well introduce myself.
I see my buddy BB is here too.I read about his love of the NFL and couldn't help but laugh.I know he loves it just don't make any bets with him.He still owes me lunch from a dolphins - cowboys game a few years ago.I'm still holding you to it to B.
I look forward to reading and sharing some pots/pics with you guys.

reel i found a great dropshot rig to save time for fishing! forgot to copy link but tell me if you agree.. tie an octopus gami to the main using a polamor knot some 20" up from tag end.. now here is the time saver .. tie a two turn over hand knot for a drop weight of choice..when and if snagged the two turn knot should fail and all is saved but a weight to quickly retie.. better than losing a barrel, weight leader and hook!

stay out of the stock market /big brother is on the take

Welcome again, Walt!

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself up at Loon.  And even happier to hear that your kids had a good time.

By the way- they were very cool kids.  Nice, well-mannered, and obviously interested/excited in seeing what happens once a tip-up flag is waving in the air.  You're lucky to have such good kids, and its great you are able to get back to NY often to see them.

I am sure we'll cross paths again while you are in town.  If not, I will see you next Christmas on the local pike pond!

Hello everyone, My name is Sean 29 years old. I live in a small town in washington county, Being right on the border of VT/NY  I fish Champlain from here to plattsburgh. I have a small little house right on the lake so going out for a small venture is nothing for me, The water is 100 yrds away. Aside from hunting, Ice fishing is my #2 passion. I have yet to figure out why the ice is so much more appealing to me than regular warm weather fishing, DON'T get me wrong I love to go out in the boat and fish till I can't stay awake anymore but once that ice hits..........forget it. My shanty has bunk beds!!! Usually one weekend a season a big group of us stay over night friday and saturday sleep in the shantys and fish all day and then at night for wallys. I never run out of fishing spots there is plenty of lake. If anyone is ever on Champlain I'm never hard to find everyone knows Kramer(my last name..thats what everyone knows me by)

Oh ya...nice fishing..I do alot of warm water fishing up there, do alot of camping in Bulwagga Bay. My uncle's name is on the board for "Champ" sighting...lol. Thats about as far as I go in my little 16 ft fiberglass.....waters open up pretty good after that. South Bay and south is where I mainly stay....right in the backyard. If I just want to fill the bucket in a hurry then it's on in Lake George.

Hey all, I hail from Jamesville NY, Outside of Syracuse. We fish Oneida lake for bass, walleye and perch. Then we hit all the beautiful local streams for trout, butternut, limestone, nine mile creek. Love just going out and enjoying nature, I cannot wait until trout season starts. Anyway I know it's not Eastern, NY but it looks like CNY is gettin' no love on these boards. I figured I would neighbor with you cats.

I'm giving away 5 panther martin spinners right now, just login and submit a fishing photo. It's free and there's no catch.

Hi.  My name is Patrick (Pat).  I live in the Saratoga area and serve in the military.   I have 2 hobbies.   Fishing and running.   Dont golf or any othe stuff as it would cut into my fishing time.   I picked up a bassboat 2 years ago and dont get home much anymore other than to grab the boat.   I love bass fishing but often fish for NP and other fish that are hitting.  I am also a C&R guy.   Dont even like the taste of fish.   Dont figure.

I can see from the many posts that there are alot more people like me than I thought.

Pat

Welcome and give me a shout when you need to know the lay of the land around here.  All good people interested in helping others enjoy the great outdoors.  Also a C & R guy until I catch a nice walleye that I can filet.  Plenty of great fishing around here.

Eagle Ed,

Thanks.   I have been thinking of expanding to Cossayuna Lake, Lake George, Caroga and Canada lakes.  I want to do a little more on the Mohawk and northern Hudson Rivers too.   I usually fish Saratoga, Lonely, Ballston and the now posted Round lake.
