Very first post here on the forum. I am also a deadhead I dont know if it helps but sugar magnolia is my trolling music in my 17.85FT Tracker. Fished the mohawk yesterday 9/27 between lock 7 and 8.... 3 smallies 2 crappies 1 walleye. Crank baits for the walleye and crappies just up from the twin bridges by the islands the smallies were on small BOYEAH buzz bait. I live near Ravena. I am in the Army national guard I fish the catskill creek a lot. Been in NY for a few years now after leaving 6 years of active duty infantry service. I have fished with everything from garden worms to RPGs in everywhere from Afghanistan and thialand to Hawaii. I grew up in South Dakota so I have landed a few thousand walleyes, hundreds of Pike and trout. I keep a log of my catches complete with weather conditions and water temps and baits used. So there is my life except oh yeah I have a wife and two kids. I will be posting as many trips as i can with as much info as i can.

HI, I'm Bob (57) From Rochester NY, I own a camp on Tughill and snowmobile there all winter, I'm looking to buy a cartop boat and fish some remote ponds near my camp this summer for Bass/trout.
If anyone has any experience with Lewis/Oneida/Jefferson/Oswego county ponds/reservoirs I would appreciate any info you have, also if anyone in the area wants to join me send me a PM.

Just looking to find some quiet spots to chill out, get away from the noise of the city, and hopefully catch a few fish.

thanks
Bob

Hello, I'm Todd from Middle Grove, NY. I fish as often as I can.... Growing up I spent a few weeks a year camping in the Tupper Lake area of the Adirondacks and go back every chance I get. I recently upgraded my fishing boat from a 15 foot open bow to a 20 foot Trophy walk around. So far the new boat has been great! I particularly enjoy fishing for northern pike and musky....

Tight Lines,
Todd

Anthony here!

i'm 24 (greatful dead are ok lol) have only been in the capital region for about 3 years fishing and am still discovering new spots to frequent and call my own. Before that i lived in CT where the trout and atlantic salmon are stocked by the millions and they bite hard and often, unlike the finiky cold water bass. Now in ny i've changed my target species and love catching bass (LM,SM,Spot,Stripes, hybrid ect). Got a fishing kayak that has seen water from the Mohawk to Onieda Lake. Last year i caught a 24lb Freshwater Drum on a stickbait, that contends for the state record but my Scale isnt IGFA certified... might just bite the bullet and pay for it. Id love to go out with anyone and learn tips and tactics for waters that i frequent, i'll buy the beer! Tight lines on your lunker quest!!

New to the forum and eastern NY, moved out here from western PA. Looking for new spots for good fishing. Just bought a kayak bc I found shore fishing to be a lot more difficult in this state as far as access goes. Hopefully there are some folks with a few suggestions for me as I am willing to try anything out if it puts fish on the line.

Great fish, I hit Eagle lake through the ice this year for the first time, got mostly bass and northerns but I am just getting accustomed to fishing NY, maybe I will see you up there sometime.
