We were supposed to be there today thru Sunday night. That turned into a hard pass. Oh well, maybe we will try again and get up before the end of the month.

I saw 4k+ on the gauge at Pineville.

I saw 4000 from the EndZone Parking lot in P-Town yesterday, definitely NOT a place where you want to make a mistake fishing.

Our hours on the water were limited, as 2B developed cramps and his thrown shoulder and did not brave the rotten weather on Thursday, and had a couple before I got there on Wednesday. Friday, we just packed up and drove home, as it was TOO HIGH!  Lots of brownies in all the ditches near where they get stocked all along the lake, but also all the license plates from Mass, Conn, NJ, PA, Va, and Colorado that were at the SR the day prior, at a lot of the spots.  In the monsoon I fished a very long stretch of river, just the choice spots (I had it all to myself, there was even no one in the Stairs when I drove by!).  Not a pull except for the oak leaves on every other cast.  I'll be back hoping for a few more chrome in the river if it comes down by Tuesday, but Griz told me they got over 3 inches at the hatchery.

It didn't come up hard until Thursday night.  When I started on Thursday, it was about 1000, after the 3.5 hours of rain, 2 hours of deluge, it had gone up to 1300.  Friday AM we just shrugged and said if it was Thursday, we could head north, but since it was Friday, it was time to head west.

As much as I would like to get up to SR again- fish or not- time is getting short till Deer season here.
With poor DSR reports on the downside of this past flood stage -well- it just doesn't get the juices flowing much.
Hard decision but am about 60% ready to pass till Spring and give fish more time to get into the system.
Being on the low side of that 10 point catching theory kinda need some around to get lucky, lol.
But then again catching is only a  part of the  experience, love getting on the river.
Would have been mid week, next week.
Good luck to all who venture up there.

IF you change your mind, we should be up there Tuesday through Friday ( and I'm headed up right after I vote and do the dishes here, btw it is RAINING again!).  I try to keep my dance card clear this time of year, and would through the new year but Santa and Frosty the Snowman get in the way.

Hope ya hit a few Lucky--
Hey, am prone to taking task from time to time with fishing reports-
Have been at it long enough to read between the lines but kinda feel for those chomping at the bit and spending time and money based on them.
Tonight is an example- went to a popular site and saw some great Steel photos from 5 hours ago -this at 6:30 on the 14th.
Way down the pages the exact same photos were posted on the 12th.
Now ya gotta wonder if they are even from this year.
In 'Pulaski report talk' they were POSTED at those times and you can think what ya wanna think about WHEN the fish were actually caught.
Sometimes a very hard costly ( in time and cash) language to learn.
Also saw one photo recently mentioning the Sr and don't recall those buildings in the background- Havent seen every vista on the river but ---Hmmmmm.
Oh yea- the language- that fish might be LIKE the Sr ones.
Good luck out there,
Kumputers cane bea vewwy vewwy twickie.

I noted that a few weeks ago. Dont know if its a cut and paste or not though

Just gopt back from 2 days on the river.  The fish are there but they are in winter mode dropping into winter lies. No Indian Summer this year.  Git one brown and lost a good chromer, but the swing was not effective, the guys doing multiples were fishing eggs or nymphs.  Going back Tuesday, hoping it warms up a little.  It was 16 this AM and Centerville Road was one big sheet of ice, slow drive home and all on 3 and 104 no back roads in this weather.
