Let me also say that I have NO problem at all with sharing information...  but I'd like to know what kind of person I am sharing this information with.  I don't think it is wise to speak specific information on a forum that hundreds (if not thousands) of people read.

-Tim

Absolutely correct.....If you are ignorant to believe the internet has little or nothing to do with the crowds in the last several years, you are sadly mistaken.  It is not just the folks that you see in here that are seeing all this, you can probably multiply it by a thousand!  Reporting specifics will ruin an area in a hurry....I've seen it, but I'd be the first to take a guy out with me who wants to take the initiative to learn...

I fished the west side last weekend and heard numerous references to things I had read on this site.  I believe that people would go to Erie with or without the site, but I also know that a lot of people use this site to plan their trips.

everyone knows that this time of the year steelhead are running or getting ready to run.the internet only helps you make a choice where to go.this website seems to consist of some guys who actually dont mind offering thier expertise and some who just seem like know it alls who belittle the questions asked and then lead your question into an entirely different direction.

Those folks you heard reference this site are the same one's that complain about spot-burning, spoon-feeding, etc.

Not to intrude, but I like to check the site to see if people are catching fish knowing the date, but really paying attention to the weather more than the reports.

The internet may have sped the process. But word of double digit days of 5+ pound Trout, would have reached every outpost on the frontier, by pony express by now. Did you really think it would/could remain a secret?

Maybe they just aren't very good at figuring the truth from the garbage.  Once someone says they saw "A" fish, people start getting antsy.  A couple conflicting reports and you start to read more into it than there really is.

In my experience I have found people fishing parts of many tribs that I thought only very few new existed.  Places I fish I was lucky to see one person the whole day, but it only takes one blabber mouth who will give out gps coordinates  (sarcasim)  and everyone and his brother is fishing there.  Honestly though everyone pays for the right to fish so can I blame them no.  Can I blame them for looking at out of the way places based on tips?   no.  I just say be careful who you give info out to.  I have traded many 10 to 20 fish days to fish in solitude, but then again (devils advocate)  If you get in with the right bunch of guys and gails it can be a blast also.  I guess you can say the quality of the people you fish near can make your trip or break it.  No doubt the internet gives away are sacred and cherished spots, that why if I report I give stream color, hot baits, etc,  but not spots or specific trib names.

I don't care if there's a thousand fish up to the manchester hole.  There isn't a spot for you to fish from.  The place is crawling with fisherman basically casting into a fish tank.  You have to really have a hankering for a smoked steelhead to spend a day with that crowd.  And fly fisherman should forget all about Walnut for the moment as there's no room to cast.

elk has barely any change in water height, just a new color to it. i'd imagine the fish have moved some from the logjam hole upstream but didn't see any fish in the water up as far as the rt. 5 tubes.

walnutz is flowing pretty good and there are 87 fisherman between the stopsign hole and the boat launch plus countless others walking up and down the road carrying their minnow buckets and wondering how they can play grabass with the guy they'll be fishing next to because it's elbow to elbow in most places. there were 4 guys in the lower end of the manchester hole and a couple more up above that at the bend

didn't bother looking at trout run because it's probably the same as walnut.

hopefully it rains monday and tuesday further inland than just at the lake.
