Where are the walleyes at Pyma?

I tried last night at the gate house but didnt have any luck.
I did hear that they are hitting up there at the spillway.
What is everyone using or bait?
rapalas? spinners? live bait? raps?

I would think the Ohio bridge would be the bridge on the Ohio side, making it in Ohio.

I'll be heading to the spillway soon, after the rain on Tuesday and Wed.,the fish will be moving with the higher water,Vibe-E's,Sonars,cicadas,are used. Some fish are foul hooked and are released, the wardens right there watching it all,I have never kept a foul hooked fish,I believe the fine is $125,last year, one night I hooked over 20 fish( the warden was right there watching)but only 6 where in the mouth, two nights later the first 6 fish that hit where all in the mouth, some days they really smack it and some days they don't,as for snagging there's plenty of that going on in any Erie trib, they just call it lifting there, some people are trying to snag fish and some people know how to work a Vibe-E,a slight rise on the rod tip of a foot and then follow your vibe-e back down, any bump or slack line set the hook, you know instantly if the is foul hook by the fight,if it's pounding for the bottom 95% it's hooked right,if it comes to the surface and fight all crazy,it's foul hooked,Ive done the spillway thing since the late 70's,it's been going on since the 50's but it gets a lot of bad talk now, just do everything right, don't keep foul hooked fish,if you fish from a boat, have lights, life jackets, registation,if you fish by the laws you'll have know problems.

Can't wait to get started. Just started fish'n pymatuning the last couple of years after about a 30 yr absense. I was pretty dissapointed in the Walleye fishing but it will come back. Fished mostly all Erie for those years with a little Lake Ontario thrown in. Sold the big boat and just enjoy the more laid back fishing of the 20hp. lakes. Got a place at Pymatuning and I guess I'll fish the area Lakes for the rest of my retirement years.

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

They should close the spillway for fishing from March 1st to May 1st. Catch and release is OK but if these guys limit out then they have their buddies hold there spot until they get back. They don't even act like humans!! Atleast clean your garbage up! For the small small fraction of natural reproduction, the Spillway is one of the only places for the big female eyes to lay eggs in the good gravel bottom.

Porter, everyone has their opinion on the closing matter. Some will agree with you and some will find it offensive to make that statement. The pros and cons of closing it isn't worth the argument. The only question i have is why do they close the river?

I'd like to see someone tell me that a spot is saved without the fisherman being at the lake.

then why dont you do it?

since they know youre not going to "punch them in there greedy mouth" why dont you just call the warden if theres not already one there?
