Is your capacity plate located where it is readable?
If the gas tank is under the rear hatch you might want to move the fire extinguisher.

Looks good JLH. I have 1 suggestion & 1 question.
Is that a rope lite on the front deck?
My suggestion would be to move the fire x into the corner by the switches under the fish finder or directly under the front of your seat. I think you'll find it to be in the way where it's currently located and you want it to be in easy reach if anything ever happens.

Dont be decieved, its within arms reach. That deck isnt as big as it looks. That rope on the front deck is (the yellow one)nylon, its heavy enough to hold the boat. If your speaking of the other rope, yeah that baby is THICK. It doesnt stay wrapped around the seat like that. I just did that before I covered the boat. I do want to warn anyone thinking about doing this. The stability is NOTHING like a bass boat. Yes you can stand in it but it is definately rocky.

Yeah, it got pretty expensive. If you went with lower decks you could cut the cost to a couple 2x4's and about 2 sheets of ply. You dont need to add everything I did. I wouldnt say it rocks much worse then without the decks, but its definately not rock solid. Oh and I relocated the extinguisher up to the side pannel by the switch.

Kind of like your own hand tied (very large) fly. You'll likely enjoy every fish that much more.
I was thinking to do this when I was in the boat market, but wanted a console. The cost of a console, steering and throttle controls was close to what I paid for my boat. Mine keeps me busy enough working out the kinks as it is.
Congrats and have fun with it! Looks like you likely won't have to worry about anything except general maintenence for a while. That alone, will likely make it all worth the time.

Good for you. Looks great. 2 questions. One is the boat less stable now that your are on top. Two you could have put the storage hatches flush with the floor.You still can. Just so you dont have any trip hazzards. All in all nice little boat. I would love to own a boat like that. Good deal.

It doesnt appear to be much less stable, maybe slightly. Yes I was going to put the hatches flush. But a flaw in my steps made it a bad choice. I put the carpet on the big deck and then realized I didnt create bracing for the hatches. Had I laid them flush, I still wouldnt be done. Just wanted to fish. Trust me, theres not much standing going on right now. We'll see when warmer water arives and falling out is of ZERO concern.

looks nice, if you are planning on going out on the bay/erie make sure it is calm. I sunk a 16 ft lowe boat this year while duck hunting, pretty similar to that hull design. We had it a bit overloaded, and a small wave came over the front and it plowed right under water. It was pretty darn scary sinking a boat in cold weather at night.

Good job. After re-building 2 boats myself, I vowed to never do it again. Now I have another project sitting in the yard waiting to be built. A 15' glass bass boat for the 9.9 lakes. I have all the parts, just not the time.

It wont be going to erie, I bought it for smaller lakes and rivers. Did you recover it? Trout... Time is a killer!

It gets a lot of looks on the lake, guys come by me see me standing on it. I cant help but think some of them say to themselves "I spent too much money for this boat".
I like it, plan to keep it for river fishing. Im hoping to buy a nitro this winter.
