Dad had to remove his loafers and let them pull out the insoles in Buffalo on the way and Vegas on the way back.
I could fit a lot more RDX etc. in my big azz boots than in his size 9 1/2 or 10 loafers.

Leaving Vegas we had to let them wipe our hands then around our suitcases.
They analized the towlette for possible explosives and my sisters hands were positive.
They said it was probably her handcream and asked her to wash her hands and try again.
This time she passed.
On the way there if they did this to me I probably would of missed the flight.
I was at the gun range with a few of my toys 2 days before my flight and shot a few hundred rounds then did some reloading for my .454 Casul.
I wonder if fertilizing the garden would get you to miss a flight now?
Nitrogen in fertilizer  is simmilar to nitro compounds in most explosives.

Try entering through Canadian side customs @ Thousand Islands Region of NY

In the mid 80's I traveled through Canada in my dads Delta 98 with a friend for a few days.
When we got to US Customs near Alexandria Bay the only question the officer had was "Do you boys have any beer in the car"
My reply was " NO SIR-we have 2 cases of ale"
He only said "get outta hear".

OH- the good old days.

Dream Catcher,

I had my rods in a telescoping case and it was searched a bunch, too. It's funny how many looks I got walking through the airport with a long "missile" looking case.

Unfortunetly, when I arrived in FL all three rods were broken because they didn't put the pin back in correctly. I got a HUGE check for $80.00 about 6 months later.   I just said forget it and qave up fighting with them about it.

BTW, crossing a border is differant than airport security. THe computer pics out screening at the airport.

For my fishing reports, product reviews, stories, and other nonsense...

In 1996 I lost my wallet the day before I was going to Cabo San Lucas. I flew all the way there and back with a Sam's Club Card...lol

a couple of years ago we, me and 2 other cycles, were crossing the james river, on the ferry, to jamestown in va. out of the three times we crossed i got checked twice. i had one bar bag no more than 10" long and 12" in diameter strapped to the back rest. the other 2 cycles had saddle bags, tour packs and no better looking than me!! but i got picked 2 out of three times, they searched underneath my bike with a mirror?? it was a good laugh though. i guess there's a nuke plant along the james river.

In 1996 I lost my wallet the day before I was going to Cabo San Lucas.

I thought I lost my wallet in San Diego about the same year.
I had a bank card and a few non-ID cards in my suitecase.
Called US air and they said to show up early and I would not have a problem if I flew back with the travel companion "bimbo" I brought with me.
I was using buddy passes and had open dates.

While there I rented a Mustang GT convertible and we could not find my wallet at night using a flashlight-No dome light.
Next morning while driving down to Lajola I found it on the floor right in front of me.
That almost ruined my vacation. I canceled my cards but still had some money available on the cards that I did not think were lost,
But not as much as I wanted to spend in the next few days.

2 Days before we left I got food poisoning from a bad deep fried scallop at a seafood restaurant along the shore near where the charters are docked.
5 Visits to Mexico with no problems- then I get sick at a nice place in USA.

If they new about the gas I was going to release in the planes restroom I would never be allowed to fly again!

The Feds clarified this issue a few weeks ago. As long as you do not dock, or tie off ( anchoring not included ) a **** is NOT required to re-enter the country.

For the first time I remember, I'm hearing stories about it being harder to get INTO Canada, than to come back to the US. Just about the time OUR money is becoming less valuable than theirs, HMMMMM.

Last Summer, we went to Marineland, and had to answer a TON of questions going over, and barely a glance coming back.  Thought it was pretty funny that the only vehicle I noticed being searched just happened to have a bumper plastered with Grateful Dead and Phish stickers.  Each person had the requisite tye-dye shirts, sandals and beads in their hair.  I wonder what the authorities were looking for in that car.    **** hippies!

My friend was refused entry to canada because of 2 DUI's on his record in the past 10 years.

Better too far back, than too far forward.
