Got back from Pymie yesterday. Can't believe the price difference in 87 octane gas prices anywhere from $4.15 --- $3.07 in the Slippery Rock area.

Did finally get into the worms last trip up so see how they breed over the winter.

Son is thinking about buying 2 & 1/2 tractor trailers of fishing tackle from Arkansas.

I did a few hours of work on my boat this past weekend.  Got to float it for about 2 hours (one crappie).  Drove around as much as fished to test some things.  The last time I was up, $3.57.  I was all excited by that.  This weekend, I looked over the bridge at the gas station sign and thought it said $3.78.  Checked my gassbuddy app and said $3.08 (using their loyalty program) sign actually said $3.18.  I really didn't even need gas, but stopped to top it off...  I got back here and everything was in the $3.95-$3.99 range.  Guessing the one station is making it as hard as possible for the new station down the road a bit.  Other stations in the area have to adjust.  Would be nice if it spread across the entire region.  If that rail strike happens, I wouldn't doubt we see $5/gal.

Doubt if I make it out until next March. Have enough fish in the freezer until then from the very few outings (3) this year. Don't hunt or trap for some years now so looking like a lazy boring winter ahead. Maybe wood working could help.

Yeah, drove up past Lake Wilhelm this morning and the cricks were raging purdy good. The Colorado River and Lake Mead dropping quickly again since the flash floods on Oct. 1st. Pretty lucky we live near the Great Lakes for now.

Wer gonna go hit Moraine shortly. Let yinz know how we do. Temps havta be below 39° by now. Not any wind to speak of right now and it's only supposed to get up to 9mph by this afternoon. Happiness is 15mins from your driveway to the launch👍.

9 MPH forecast means white caps and sustained 20 MPH on the lake. Hope you slam them.

Fished 10 to 330. 10 keepers. 4 real bigguns. Temp was 40.5°- 39.5 depending on where we were. Wind wasn't too bad, with stretches of semi-flatness. Fishing should've been better. Maybe its an off year? I know guys have been saying the same things about Pymie Crappie fishing also. I'm thinking maybe a trip to Wilhem to try or another Pymie trip, but target more for walleyes.

So crappie, you've told us he's been buyin' oodles of tackle for a couple of years now. Where's the store? Brick & mortar or on-line only? URL? Christmas 'll be here 'for ya know it.

Not real sure, but that coulda been the last trip. It's gonna take a big ole dump on us startin Thrusday. We'll havta see.

Been watching a bunch of fishing video's lately. Sure hope to get back into fishing more in the coming years. Making new tackle bags up and going through some from the past. Gonna try for Pike soon. Tasty from cold water.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H1imHrTkrw

Great video. Does Moraine have any ice or is it all open water? Been thinking of hitting it or some local crappie ponds.

Drove up past Wilhelm a couple hours ago and was mostly open with some thin sheets ov slush ice floating around.

Stopped at Matt's place before you get to Linesville and checked out his 15 passenger Chevy 3500 van he is giving me. Nice to throw the canoes in if remove the seats or tie off on the heavy duty roof racks. They workout great for fishing.  Miss my old vans....

I’m in central Idaho and just getting ready to start ice fishing at cascade lake for jumbo perch and big kamaloop rainbows. The fishing has been really good up there as far as I have heard

Had to take a trip up to Erie this weekend because a tree fell between my shed and my boat. The only damage to the boat was the license plate frame thankfully. However, the shed is going to need some repairs this spring. After I got most of the limbs cleaned up I took a drive to 20 mile, I didn't see any fish in the main holes between the lake and the bridge. Lots of vehicles were parked up top by the farm.

Monday, the Fishing Master Catalog arrived from BassPro Shops. Nothin' better'n a new wish book to wile away the winter doldrums. Guess what. Some prices are the same as 2022, others up anywhere from 8 to 12%. Who would'a thought?

Is Roscoe P Coltrane going to be there? I went like 15 years ago. He was there. Was pretty much the highlight. That and not being able to catch a trout out of their swimming pool. Stupid fish. Had a bunch on, but they used the dullest hooks possible. So was kind of fun not actually landing them. I’m sure they did it to help keep them alive.

We would go to the Cleveland Show every year, back in tha day with the Game Commision bus trip. Was great being an early teenager and bringing back a huge bag of tobacco samples. Oh how the 80s were so different than today 😆. I can't see why it was a bad idea just passing out Redman plug and Silver Creek to who ever walked by the booth🤣

I’m going to go to the Harrisburg show to meet up with the PH from the Safari company we went with. Haven’t seen him since Covid. We tried to put together a preserve pheasant hunting trip while he was in the US, but our schedules just didn’t work out.

Don't see the Laurel H.S Sportsman's Night Out posted again this year. It was usually around the end of February. Wasn't too far of a drive and made for nice little evening.

wonder if just a Trout stamp is good enough and no need for the Erie? Probably since the crick is in Crawford county??
