I spent a half hour playing around with my new side imaging too.  Another 50 hours of messing around with it and maybe I will figure out how to use it in a way that will help catch fish...  I swear, I watch videos and think that I am completely following it.  I get it running on my boat and it is like someone hits me in the head with a baseball bat, I turn into a complete idiot

Porktown, I don't want you to feel like the Lone Ranger on the electronics. This'll be my third year with my 'Bird Helix 7 SI/DI, and I can screw it up so bad I have to get my son to straighten it out enough for me so I can at least see the bottom! I even carry the instruction booklet with me but I am hopelessly cyber stoopid.

I have that same unit. I never use the SI/DI. My next one will have GPS and Sonar only.

We went to Pymie today. Dead flat, clear as a bell sky and not too much traffic. Needless to say, 1 eye, 1 jumbo perch and a baby tiger musky. What a brutal beating that was today😵‍💫

It was a Christmas present from my wife and son. Replaces my 561 black & white w/GPS, which when and if I scrape up the jing for a front trolling motor, I'm gonna mount the 561 up front. I do like seein' in color though, (once I get it figured out). I can even screw that one up what with the GPS, waypoints, split screen, etc. At least both can tell me how fast I'm goin'.

Tim, The bite was slow up my way this evening -- early night. Still a day or two away in the area. Talked to 2 kayakers and they didn't even get a bite. Ended up with 4 Perch a 16" LM and 9 Crappie. Plenty of small baitfish along the shoreline that had grass / weeds. All the fish were very good too great size on the Perch and Crappie so that was nice. Probably cause the Shiners were very big? Caught everything in the weeds.

Still have to figure what fish finder goes with what boat yet...

If I head out late morning gonna leave the bait behind, throw soft plastics in the weeds and have a fish basket by my side. Much easier, save time and should have better results. The live bait is a must have for me after dark for Crappie though.

Gettin' some thick ones this year. I see guys post them up all the time but for me a 12"er was only a handful a year for Arthur. The few times out the last few years 12" -- 14" were more common for me.

Nice fish Crappie.
We are gonna hit Pymie again this weekend before this cold front comes through. Probably out of Jamestown this time.

I wanted to head up for the week but the old lady and my son didn't want to go. Hope to wade tomorrow sometime for a bit at Arthur. RC up north end is loaded this time of year if looking for Panfish. A 12" +++ Crappie is very common for there.

Good Luck

The Harmer and Tarentum docks are in. I didn't fish this weekend, but my Starcraft got a new trailer so that was fun.

So the big storms that were supposed to come through here never materialize. Little rain off and on from 430 till about 7. A friend of mine (🐷) hit me up about 10ish and we met out the lake around 11. Fished 3 or so hours. 10 keepers with a couple brutes. Was a bit windy and with the impending "doom" coming, we bounced around 2. 68° surface temp. It gets any warmer and they will vacate all the shallow bays and transition to pre spawn structures.

Snow overnight and in the morning, then 80* Thursday and a high of 47* Sunday for Linesville. May is the wettest month of the year for this area.

Only made it out twice this year for Crappie.

No leaves on the trees as of today in Brady Twp. near Arthur.

Muddy Creek is a very slow moving crick, almost like a swamp/bog in a lot of places so is different than some others that push mud and debris quickly.

Haven't been out since the monsoons came. I'd guess it's dirty water back there.

I'm planin' on hittin' it Saturday at Freeport for the walleye opener. I've only got 5 gallons of gas in one tank for the boat and I don't know if #3 son left me any in the truck to travel, but it's only two miles from home to launch so I'll make do. I have 0 money 'til next month.#1 and #3 son are gonna launch at Cowanshannok to fish up to Lock 8.

I launched at Tarentum, the river was faster than I expected. Still managed to catch a few bass and walleye, lost a big musky at the boat.

I launched at Freeport. River is high but green, not brown. I only dealt with the current for 2 1/2 hours. Never had a hit.

M/C is still dirty and covered with Cottonwood in most places. Not a good outing but not terrible either.

Yeah it sure should be. A little tougher for me wading when the weather wouldn't stable for any length of time. The cottonwood seeds make it a little annoying as well. Good Luck this season.

Been hitting glade run a bunch this spring. Practicing some trout techniques on the stockies for the trip to Colorado in July.

Started throwing the senko around yesterday about an hour before sundown yesterday and got a bunch of bass. Got one fat 18” and some smaller ones. Is it just me or is that lake just polluted with stunted bass? I’ve been fishing it in the spring for the last three years, and I think it was refilled in what, 2018? All I kept hearing was “wait a few years” but I don’t feel like the bass are getting any bigger.

Takes about 8 years for a bass in PA to grow to about 3#. Refilling and stocking was in 2017.

When GL was refilled it was stocked with fingerling bass plus a bunch of forage species, along with some crappies and channel cat fingerlings. It’s received a few bigger bass when other nearby lakes have been drained for repairs and the PFBC transferred them to GL.

So yeah, wait a few years.
