Hey guys I am pretty new to Fish erie and this is my first year ice fishing. This sounds like a great opportunity to learn some great tecniques and meet some people who love fishing as much as i do  I live on E38th st and I am always trying to fish! but its always by myself  haha anyways let me know if you think I could tag along!

I'll try to make it this year. I set up ~ 1/2 mile away last year and walked down to say howdy, then after talking to a couple of fellas decided to go back and get my son and move in with the gang. However when I returned my boy didn't want to make the pilgrimage, as he was still catching some perch. I guess it payed off to stay because he pulled up a ~26 in pike on a Swedish Pimple and his light perch outfit. That kid can catch anything on a S.P. I was looking forward to the Comradery, but time with my son is allways precious.

i hit some jumbos today over by cherry st
5 went 14inches the other 10 were 10-12inches
hooked up 10 steelies landed none everytime they broke at the hole
saw a burbot caught by a lady next to me

Just a hint that was passed along to me by a friend who used to live in Minn. If you are going to be fishing where there might be something big in the water that might break you off at the edge of the hole . . . use a 10" steel leader. It will act as a sinker and won't abrade on the edge of the hole. Since I don't know $hit about Ice Fishing it sounds good to me.
If I do come up do I have to have Ice Fishing pole(S)? or can I just use a regular short rod. I would guess fly fishing is sort of out.

I knew I should not have said anything cause MO is like married again and can't used any of the old excuses and he has drank too much shine to come up with any new ones.
And I have sooooo many GPS co-ordinates here off this board I can't possibly get lost and besides, the Blazer knows its way without you or me!
I would like to know if we are cooking out there if not then I will make sure that what I bring is HOT! Unless there is a restaurant around that delivers, but remember Krott, she has to have red hair!

If you have a two piece spinning pole, take the rod apart and duck tape the reel to the top half.

The date is between FEB. 9th, 16th, or the 23rd or possibly March 1st if we dont get good ice till then?? I'll have to see what the weather brings before anything is final. Ice on bay is not safe as of right now.

the 9th is out not cold enough next week heck monday and tuesdays are to be in the 40s and theres not nite time temps below 20 early march maybe would be the best idea.... or 2009?
