Marco, I've done that a few times this year where I went out and got one in the first few minutes I was there and then.......nothing. Had a slow day today myself. My father and I made it out for about 2 1/2 hrs this afternoon. Was hoping for a windier day, but it didn't happen. Only managed 2 short ones. My dad had a third one on that was legal, but somebody muffed the net job and it got off. Won't be letting me forget that for a few days :). Wasn't me in the brown boat. We didn't get there till 4:30.

Having been posting in a while but have been able to hit the lake last three Friday evening's and Saturday mornings trolling. Everything south of causeway for eyes.  The pattern for me has been two 19-20" ones on Friday and 2-4 19-21" ones on Saturday.  Couple large mouth bass a only a few small cats. Good year for eyes for me though.

Will not be back out until first week in September as vacation comming up with family. Titghtlines

Naw Marco it ain't nothing new, a guy wanting to keep his "honey hole" a secrete.

Goodness, I remember wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in the fifties being told to keep quiet about where we caught the fish. Which I didn't and was always ready to run at the gums.  Sure glad I got over that in my older years.

Use to have a ball with my brother-in-law fishing  French Creek around Franklin, back in the day.  He would sneak off, to his hot spots,  catch 'smallies' then shove "Polaroid" pictures in my face or invite me to a fish fry which was usually on a day I couldn't make it.  Didn't take me long to find him and I would hide and throw rocks in the creek, take pictures of fish I caught in in his spots that revealed landmarks or, just get there ahead of him.  The end results were always the same, he wouldn't talk to me.

You just keep doing what your doing because it gives you pleasure, in helping others to be successful.  It is goodwill such as yours that separates a fisherman from a sportsman.

As for the naysayers, just like my brother-in-law, they'll just have to get over it!

Anybody here on this thread use "Down East" rod holders and need two more? For free? They look like the D10 model, worth 30 bucks if they were new. Free to the first person who wants them... Figuring a Pymatuning fisherman might be the first to see this post. :) First PM in my inbox, gets them.

I got them when I purchased a boat recently.

Fishing Wilhelm tomorrow, I will report back if I catch anything worth writing about.

edit 8/10/2015 1:00 PM rod holders Spoken for pending PM of an address.

Ill be heading out in the morning. Toon out of Jamestown and trolling north. Been picking up suspended fish in the channel everywhere between snodgrass and the Cosway. Running planer boards 80 feet back with 1oz lead with a harness and meat. (1.7 mph) and a couple of hot n tots off the back. Most of the action is on the meat. I'm guessing that's about 15-18 foot down and I'm in about 19-24 ft of water most of the time. Been out one day the last two weekends and my buddy and I got 8 eyes each day. (About 5 hour days). Had one day where the wind picked up and we drifted 11-14 ft of water and picked a few with jigs and crawlers in the middle of the day.

Whiners are gonna whine. I for one really enjoy talking fishing and like reading the reports on this board. It's nice when people share a little info to help others out, plus reading about others success is entertaining when I can't get out myself. Keep 'em coming and good luck.

Agreed and when u give information others tend to be more willing to give you some back when they figure out something you havnt. Time for bed. Conneaut lake in the morning for toothy critters.

What a gorgeous day to be on the water, of which I am not.

Overcast skies, warm temperatures (good), but little to no wind (bad(for some)), will hopefully provide for some great fishing.

I got the popcorn machine heating-up, the butter is melted and now, just waiting to see lots of pictures with smiling faces and, fish on ice.

Good luck to all who can make it out today and to those who can't, I feel your pain.

So....hit the lake at 7 am out of Jamestown marina. Ran the toon north and started with the program mentioned above. Caught 3 channel cat and 1 22 inch eye by 10 am. Then the cloud cover dissapeared and it shut down. Funny thing all fish on same rod. 1 oz lead with a green blade pulling meat 80' back on a sidewinder planet at 1.7 mph in 18-21 FTW. I set the other rods to the same thing and only caught em on the one rod. Any how when the sun came out a little breeze started blowing from the south. We did a couple of drifts in 11 -14 ft and pulled two eyes on the first two drifts. Then the wind died and I couldn't get a drift goin more then .2 mph. I tried pulling myself around with the electric and we caught a few cats and some perch jigging but no more eyes. Was off the water @ 2 with Three in the box.

Went out this evening, got my butt kicked, one throwback eye, several small cats, and a few perch!! Was a beautiful night with an awesome sunset though.

When you guys hit Pymie in the Fall...what is your indicator that its time? Not asking for spots...I'd just like to know if there's a water temp or air temp number you all use as your prompt to get after 'em. Any info helpful...love goin' up there but its a 3 hour drive and I have never fished it in the fall.

Hey............  do ya think walleye might hit on popcorn?    Nahhhhhh, silly thought, corn is usually only good for carp and trout!

Your not alone T A, not by a long shot, If I could get the darn walleye to hit I wouldn't be sitting at home playing on this 'puter'.

Also, Alaskan, like your avatar, that's a nice picture and, welcome aboard.
