The weather screwed our Total Eclipse from the sun today. Everyone gathered up a 13 shade welding lens and got ready after our lunch period , 11:30 am.. Don't you know by 1pm we had a ton of cloud cover until 3pm.. BUMMER !!! Summer is nearing and end and I for 1 am ready to see it go.. To me it was the year without seasons, just wet and sticky. Ice fishing in 2017 was tough, spring stripers were a bust and summer on the great Lake Ontario never happened. Bring on Fall AND Winter so I can get active again !!!! Speaking of Ontario, Just so figures I drag the Daisy outta the weeds , fire her up to specs and ready to give this Stellar trolling season so I hear a go , Yup .. Expecting a big blow wends.. Hopefully Thursday will start to play nice and into the weekend looks "better" but much more traffic I'm sure.. I'll be in town wends until > sat, possibly sun ?? Most likely an open seat or two in that time frame , give me a shout..

Have fun, hope it is ''on fire'' like they say it is. I am going to a Green Day concert Saturday, for our summer blow out.

I'll be in that neighborhood, but likely working most of everyday (and especially the AM's) setting up archery targets. It is supposed to get very cool after the blow.

Crickets chirping in the light of day; Golden Rod beginning to take on its glow; no dog days of August this year that I know; makes me wonder if the gales of November are ready to blow; is Old Man Winter ready to snow; if he is I can tell you this; my ice rod, and auger ready to go, hoping to catch a stupid fish 😄 BTDT said that 😉 Good times and tight lines.

Doesnt look like daytime temps are gonna be soaring over the next week, not that it wont be 90 in October one week and forty a day later. Seen one year, "64" I'm thinking, when it was so hot and dry the PGC cancelled the start of squirrel season... "bummer". Or maybe that was the year French Creek froze and created a huge ice dam at the confluence with the Alleghaney causing flooding, sending ice chunks the size of automobiles, onto Otter Street in Franklin. Them days we're talking "full" size automobiles.
Oops sorry bout dat trip down memory lane. heh hehhh.
Anyway, hope yinz fellers see cool enough temps to bring down and maintain good water quality for sum real good fishin.
Waitin for some good photo ops, popcorn pre-popped and waitin on the hot butter and salt.

Here comes Harvey but it ain't looking like much threat of a lot of rain to maybe raise the criks up. Outdoor remote temperature thingy saying 48 degrees F. With the cooler temperatures forecast over the next week I decided to winterize the swimming pool. Didn't take no time a-tall using my sawz all. Tore that sucker down so-I-did!!! Cherry trees can drop all the dam leaves they want to. Leaves will just blow right on by, cause no more pool cover to collect on. Stupid Cherry Tree leaves.

60 degrees with a wind-chill of 54 as remnants of Harvey fall outside.
Seen a lot of devastation in our local area in my time, but I can not begin to imagine what Harvey has left behind.

Good to hear on the livestock chores Clint. Been stocking my wood for a month now and everything here on is gravy for next year. Summer is officially over in my book as daylight dwindles. Closed up my pool yesterday and set a trail camera out back along a run just to see . Was supposed to spend day doing the same at deer camp but rain canceled that adventure. Tomorrow with wife and grandson :) So today I try and do a much needed organization and cleaning of the man cave. I'm still sorting may striper tackle :(. This month is going to fly by as its all about preparing for winter. There is a lot on my plate and little time . Adks September 14th -18th. As for salmon river, September is most likely out for me. I have ccommitments the last week in September and the weekend of October 6th . I can sneak up in between then or during the week in October but as far as I see weekends are out for the forseable future until maybe, ,,, April 2018. . There is a toss around about skipping ice for a weekend in February for Altmar.
Stay dry folks

Listening to scanners out of Miami-Dade and Broward counties in Florida. Amazing how calm police and fire officials sound as they become dispatched to various calls. Police in both counties are busy with looting and threats of violence. Firefighters tending to trees contacting wires and structure fires. Rescue helping people trapped in elevators and woman in labor. As I type, a police officer request a K9 unit be sent to his location. Reports a suspect is on the run after shots fired. Hearing all this unfolding in real time, and as calm as the heros sound, you'd never know a major Hurricane just blew through. God Bless the men and women in blue.

some light rain overnight , just enough so I don't need to water the garden. In the process of packing and stacking as we get ready to embark on the Awesome Able river in the Adirondacks .. No kids, just kayaks and fishing rods.. Have a feeling we are going to make some trouts sorry for taking a sniff on my lures, yes stickbaits and dirty worms will do the damage :) Reports and maybe some pictures (when I figure them out ) to follow.. As for pictures, it seems if I take a picture , it's to large to upload but if I take a screenshot OF the picture , it is the right size.. Something I need to figure out in my settings .. Keep dreaming of those salmon folks, my thoughts are on fat colored up fall browns and bows :)
