Thanks for the offer BB.
I mostly get the chance to run up on Tues with my work schedule.

Good to have you aboard here. Boards dull looking and older than dirt but its as open as any board around. Just don't swear or physicaly threaten and all is good.

Hope you had fun cal!
Smart move locating next to the bathroom if you were drinking coors.

I think Drake could be the guy behind the hole in the bathroom wall that says "insert junk here"--lol

Haha Metal....

I don't do the public campground thing, so I would'nt know.

But Cal says the hole is pretty small, so in case Stoney's is one of your stops on your snack route, you better try your patented single cheese doodle strung on mono trick...

right in the mouth....

Seriously Cal - how was the camping experience at Stoney's?
I drove by the place many times but never checked the place out.

Did you fish the river in the immediate area? And if so, did you like it?

Drake, Stoney's is a great big party after dark complete with fireworks! I fished the river at the mouth of trout brook. I hooked up many times but only got five in in four days. I love my new fly rod! I can tell you though my freakin arm was tired from fighting fish! Had a great time! By the way the guys camping next to us cooked enough food to feed a army and shared with us. We traded food for beer! Oh yea Stoney bones go great with beer!

Thats a great piece of water cal.
There used to be a pocket about 100-125 yards up from there on the north bank that was money. Don't know what the flood might have done to that.

I caught a nice Skam at the mouth of Trout Brook last year in June....on a spinner !!!

Great holding spot when the SR waters get warm.

Don't tell anyone about that spot Cal - it's a secret....

Guess that would bring up the question "What constitutes Fly Fishing ?"
Using a fly as your lure on any tackle.
Using fly fishing tackle (rod/reel)..

I don't see how you could be considered a fly fisherman and have to adhere to their regs when you have a Spinning rod in your hands..

I saw a dude flyfishing with a spinning rod last year when I stopped for a burger at the altmar bridge. What a jackass. Prob. senior drake.

haha - Salmo - that's funny..

I like my Browning and Cortland fly rods - they really lay it down - at a fraction of the cost of them designer label rods...

Too bad Dougie didn't have the snackshop set up last year, you could have stayed in pay-to-play land all day...

DB - I think you are grossly exaggerating - every other post.

Just busting stones anyway - don't let it get to you.

Not sure why the season pass holders are so sensitive.

Besides, I hear them DSR burgers can't compare to an Altmar Hotel Special.

(p.s. stay away from AH fries - unless you need to grease your fly line afterwards)..

definitely exaggerating drake... you got me there. i could really care less where people fish. it just seems to me that many people who claim they don't care about douglaston and prefer to fish elsewhere; in turn seem to drop the comments about it the most; so maybe they do care??? maybe it really does bother them??? just an observation. not sensitivity...gonna be up this weekend swinging 10 oz hammers... wish me luck... the creek run off next to my place will probably be loaded with cohoes since i saw about 10 last weekend. a hammer is probably all i'll need to catch em.. fish on...

ps-just kidding, i only admire these wild spawners... never do i fish for them...

Pile them high and pour on the gravy. The small size could feed a family of four so get the large. A meal fit for a king.
