By the way Drake, I rode around a lot Friday looking at the flood. I saw some of those suicidal nits fishing too. It wasn't really fishing though--they had weights like window counterweights and were throwing out and  then pulling up and back reeealll hard. They were doing this in water racing by that looked like coffee with all kind of debris racing past. Didnt look like fishing to me. Do you know what thats called?

someone metioned something about my dead body being fished out and that he would call me an idiot when it happens. he seems to justify or try to lighten his words, but he said it. he also referred to guys who drowned as idiots and that they more or less deserved it. whether they did or not, you don't say that... drake; how can you expect people to not be offended by some of the crap that comes out of you. and then when i respond to your comment on how someone is stupid for crossing the river at 750 cfs, you tell me you'll call me an idiot when they fish my dead body out of the river. you said it man. and you were out of line by saying that and many other things. yes maybe i stooped a little low, but so did you. reality check here brother, 2 wrongs don't mAKE A RIGHT, BUT NEITHER DOES ONE WRONG. and many would conclude that your comments were wrong. and besides, there are plenty of safe areas to cross in 750 in my opinion...

RG:

Window counterweights are the perfect choice for flows over 15,000 cfs

Can also be legally purchased in NY state. (over 1/2 oz).

Can't recall, was the Mighty Oak thread somehow related to the horrific "Bear-Skinnin" incident I witnessed here a couple of years ago?

I was so tramatized I forgot my username and had to re-up with a new name.

why why - you Insensitive Barstool....

p.s. - rumor has it that a couple of the grateful "fools" that were rescued complained that the Fire Rescue crews did not allow them to toss their roped up, half rotted mudsharks into the boat when they were plucked off Gilligan's island.
The nerve of them rescue folks to deny a drowning man a healthy supper of PCB's/Mercury

We were all a little shaken by that episode!
Shameful!
By the way the Oak was deemed private(or at least the county ended up giving in, umhum like that was going to happen if there was a chance in hell they could win a lawsuit).
The mod in question was told he was breaking board rules by the owner. The bear skinner is still around.
King Davey, whom I still respect, never promised that LOSA would unequivocaly state their opposition to the use of ED.
All those haters on that other board were wrong about the issue and not man enough to ever admit it.
It is still a place where the mods friends can say anything they want while people with a differring opinion are censored.
This board while old fashioned and plain looking kicks****out of it.
Never fall into the trap of the mod-god complex Salmo. Ya does good work here.

Gotta admit Ya got me confused with that hat question.
While I have a bunch of seat stain fishing hats the C-S-Driver hat is beyond my ken.
Please elaborate.
And nobody has ever made me do anything.

Unless I'm mistaken, I thought you were referring to another site that sells tickets to high priced chicken dinners and over-priced special edition hats,  hoodies, and skullcaps so it's members can easily identify each other as they protect small tribs (a.k.a their favorite snagging honeyholes).

Ya know - the masters that resemble working Texas Oil Rigs as they diligently work the Eye-of-the-Needle chokepoint in the Ball park, who recently bashed the crap out of a guy who legally plucked a Steelie out of the flooded LFZ parking lot and dared to keep it, yet see no problem when they drag fish backwards out of the flooded diversion channels during 1800 flows,

ya know , those guys....

Gotya now.
That's the sheethole I was referring to.
I THOUGHT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT SOME HAT OF MINE.
You know that is not overpriced. They once told me that it is totally out of Lil's pocket. I guess they lose money on every hat they SELL.
They did ask me not to post for a couple of years after I skinned a bar over there also.

I guess I can weigh in on this by saying I'm one of those fire/rescue folks that have to risk everything to save somebody from their own mistakes. We lost a girl once due to her and her brother trying to canoe a rain swollen creek. They got tangled in some uprooted trees and it was game over. The thing that made it worse was that it was my crew of rookies that found her and I almost lost two of them in the recovery. So please rethink your actions when it comes to high water, you don't want be the demise of others trying to help you. My heart goes out to those died doing what they loved and their families as well.

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

Drake,
Thanks for the video. I get the lemonade thing but it's just not for me. I dont even like water at 1200. I have many more trips behind me than are left in front of me and I like to have it nice if I can.
Jumped off a boat in the Gulf of Mexico this winter and darned near drowned- kudos to Mexian EMS- was pleasantly surprised. Just cant do in the mid 60s with asthma what I could do in my 40s without asthma. I wouldnt have even leaned out that window to look at the fish. In fact I would have been a block away on high ground.--- I was too, on the other side of the river-about the time they took that video.
