Nope, just fine. Just make sure that the drag is set right and that the rod is flexible enough to take the >shock< out of the runs.

I do. I use small black ball bearing type that have a lip on the clasp. Plenty of guys do not. I just try to avoid twist in the line as much as I can. Especially with a lighter line.

Is it possible to get out on decent days and fish out of a kayak for the steelies.

Possible? yeah it is. Personally I'd have no reason to do it. If you try it PLEASE stay well away from the anglers fishing around the creek mouths. I saw a guy in a float tube off of Trout Run one time who was causing real problems with the shore fishermen. He couldn't adequately control the tube and was constantly in the way of other people. I thought somebody was gonna kill him when he came ashore.

btw - I never use a swivel with spoons, just a good quality snap.

Well kept secret as to when the fish show up at the mouth of the creeks. They will start to make false runs and check the water anytime after mid Aug. all depends on weather and rain.

dora pole....

Sounds like a new division for the one fly to me. We should have a snoopy rod steely competition/get together.  The pin will also be visiting the lake with me but what if the mouth is closed like last year?

Thought about doing that years ago with the group I used to  fish with, but we never got around to it. my kids got their old Dora and Barbie rods laying still laying around in the basement ????
How about a pocket or instant fisherman day ?????

I saw a guy crushing one day on these while I fished Cleos right beside him. I want to pick up a few and try them.

Those look very nice.  But with hooks on both ends how do you tie onto them?

Are all the mouths productive ?  I know they run them all but are the conditions better as far as accessibility and room to actually throw spoons ?  Appreciate all of the help guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!
