    WOWSERS!

Nice buck SK. His buddy ain't nothin to sneeze at either.

I'd probably drop a deuce & spook him with the stench if he walked in front of my stand.

    Good luck with that.

    He's a 10 point.

Here's the scoop.   Buddy has a few arces surrounded by state forest.   Just below him, there is a few acres of private property (which he has access to).   I know of two places this buck will step on public ground.   One is him unpressured and the other is after he receives pressure.    Buddy thinks he "owns" this deer.    He had no problem walking into my prime area two years ago but now that he's got a biggen close, he doesn't want me around on the public land.   It's just turning into an odd situation.   Of the two of us, it wasn't him who saw this buck first.    I have two choices... stay away, respect the fact that somebody thinks they "own" a deer on public land... probably remain "friends" -- ( is that really a friend)?   Or go hunt this buck (on public land) and probably lose a "friendship" because of it.   I don't know..  still another month to decide.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

    Jon,
Go after the buck.He didn't stay out of your prime area, you don't have to stay out of his. Not only did he go into your area, he did a drive with other guys and pushed deer out. A friend wouldn't do that.

I say go after that stud in archery, and do a drive through there in rifle season(just like he did to you).

He's got a weak G4 on the right?  I can't get over the main beam length and the mass.

Yes, the G4 on the right is about 2 inches.    There looks to maybe be a G5 on the right as well but its about an inch.   Can't tell for sure... as the pic I'm looking at is blurry.   Don't forget velvet makes it look like more mass, D.   I saw this buck last year but again, in velvet.  He goes "poof" once that comes off.

Velvet does add alot.  Looking at his pedicals, nice mass.  Shrinks alot on the way up though.

If you can hunt him on public ground, I dont see what the problem is. But, you may be worrying for nothing because I dont think bucks get to looking like that without being smart. He may fool you and your "friend".

I have lots of friends, but few bucks like that to hunt..... Maybe you should let me hunt him for you, that way you will still have your friend and the deer gets killed.  Just a thought.

Great pics, Jon.  Nice deer.  Just thing how big it would be if you let it walk for another year or two.

Just busting you.  Kill that bugger.  Kill it now.

Funny thing, I prefer to fish dry flies over rising fish and one of the main factors is that if I see a fish rise (particularly if I can spot it twice), I know I am not fishing for rocks.  In other words, I want to know what is there before spending time fishing for it.

On the other hand, I don't use game cameras because, for some reason, I don't want to know what it there.  I prefer to be surprised by what shows up.

With that in mind, the question I have is this -- How many of you have taken a game camera photo of a buck and then actually went on to kill that specific deer?  Was it in the same year?

By the way, Jon, if you guys don't kill that buck in archery and you still want to befriend the buck's owner, I come kill it for y'all with a rifle.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion

Shot this deer on the first day of archery last year.  This is the first buck I have harvested that I had pictures of.

Silver, what kind of a friend would act like that.

    Hunt that thing.

I've never used Trail cams because, I'm a poor, young drinker, and I kinda like begin surprised. That other buck is more along the lines of the buck I'm Targeting, I've spotted him twice Scouting.
