where to find.....

I'm lookin for boilies, boilie stops, etc...i wanna make my own rigs, but i cant find anything around here in the murrysville/delmont area.  I have hooks, line, swivels, etc...

if anyone here makes their own bait, i'de he happy to purchase some.

I'm afraid i might have to resort to taking some sweet corn home from work one day... (KFC)

I got some "Carp Bait" from Woodland's Edge in Delmont, but it's not very effective...or at least, i havn't had the ability to make it offective with a proper rig.  I had it ON the hook as opposed to the hook being attached to it with line...

There are lots of sites to order from. The above is good and www.scorpiontackle.com They carry Venture boilies that are pretty nice and cheaper than most companies.Do you ever travel to the bedford area at all? The one shop sells some carp gear there also.

Oh ya just to get your started. http://www.fishandboat.com/redirect/pages/carp/vid_hair_rig.htm
http://www.fishandboat.com/redirect/pages/carp/vid_hair_rig2.htm I did some videos on what not to do for a hair rig and how to tie one. You can use your swivels and hooks and if you go to walmart you can use a minnow needle to put your bait on. It has a gate that allows it to hook the loop of the hair rig. ALso you can use a small piece of toothpick for a stop. It will get you started at least. An actual bait needle works a ton better though.

Depends on the ingeredients but for the most part if you microwave it for a little it will become a pop up but they become very hard i the process. Also if the boilie is already made I am not sure if it would work. I have only tried this while making them fresh. Where are you from by the way?

I havn't fished twin lakes yet, only keystone lake, keystone power dam(armstrong county), and the loyalhanna dam outflow.

i ended up getting strawberry and scopex boilies, and butterscotch corn from scorpiontackle.  Got some Uncle Josh catfish doughball as well.

I gotta learn how to tie a knot apparently, because i put 50lb braid on my heavier rod and it broke on a snag(didnt put too much effort into it before it snapped).  Lost 2 rigs and a good weight  :(

If you put baking soda in your boilies they will float!!!!
I fished twin lakes with cornmeal and weatgerm and caught lots of fish....
You don't need all that stuff!!!!
single hook no weight 8# maxima you can catch big fish over 20# no problem

Basically a boilie is more ingredients and is boilied "hence the name boilie" to give it a hard outer shell. It will leak flavor but will not break down in the water like doughball.

like a jello, corn meal, flour, anise-thing?  I always called it a dough ball, but I guess I was wrong.

What is a dough ball then, just bread?

I'm sorry for sounding so **** ignorant, but this is really news to me, I've been calling it wrong all these years.

tippe it is dough ball, but you dont need flour!!!
1 cup of water to 1 cup of corn meal will make a stiff dough ball!!!
In the pay lake's i like soft dough 1 1/2 cup of water to 1 cup of corn meal add a few drops of any flavor you want!!!!!

The only and last thing I bought from that junk store is a throwing spoon....had a little amount of maize in the spoon and when I went to chuck it the **** spoon snapped right off on the first try. I put epoxy on the f**king thing and I'll try it again this weekend to see if it stays put.

well so far i've had no luck using a hair rig, no bites of any kind. I've caught 4 with crawlers till now though, so i know they're out there.....

maybe perhaps they dont bite at the outflow if the gates are open at all?  and I've never seen a confirmed carp in keystone lake, only stories of "big ones"...

Have you baited up at all? If your using boilies your going to have to throw a bunch out so the fish get a taste of them. You could also boil deer corn for 20 minutes and let it set over night, chum with that and fish your boilie over the pile of bait.

    alright, new question...

who locally sells chicken livers?  i heard grocery stores normally do, but i dont think my local Giant Eagle does, lol...

i plan on shooting up to loyalhanna tomorrow with the 16ft Four Winns we bought, so if anyone can get me a definite place i can pick some up before morning, that'd be awesome  :)
