Not to mention Eric Stroup saying that he has over a decade of guiding, tying, and writing.  Give me a break.  He has less than five years guiding.  Regardless of TCO's connections with the Spring Ridge Club, why would you want to shop somewhere that lies about their experience.  And why wouldn't you spend all of your fishing budget at Spruce Creek Outfitters... the shop that has fought to keep the Little Juniata public for 15 years?

Well.. he certainly couldn't have been driving a motorized vehicle to and from six springs?  Perhaps his clients drive him around, I mean. they sorta have to.  Talk about service!!!!  (that smiley cracks me up  ).

I'm sorry, that was mean.

Gentlemen,
Since I haven't been home in a looonnggg time, please clue me in  Which Fishing shop is which?  I know there is the shop right by the bridge, then there used to be one up on the hill by the bar, and then there was the shop up by Indian Caverns.  I don't know of any more.  Which is which?  I'm coming  up and I will be needing some stuff and I sure don't want to help out Dee Bever.  All the TCO, FFP, SRC Acronyms get a little confusing.

Spruce Creek Outfitters is the one near the bridge. That's the shop that fought to free the LJ.

I just pulled this from Spruce Creek Fly Company's website.

Eric Stroup has been making his living in the fly fishing business as a full time guide, fly tier and writer for the past decade.

What a joke.

Also, John Stoyanoff who runs TCO/Spruce Creek (AKA, Spruce Creek Fly Company) used to (or still does) guide for Spring Ridge Club.  If that doesn't connect the two groups I don't know what does.  Sorry, I'm not going to give the guy a pass just because he got out of a bad situation.  If someone shows up from another state, works for Spring Ridge Club for a few months, figures out what's going on and get's themselves out of there... sure, I'll give you a pass.  But if you start working for them knowing what they're about and then decide to jump off the sinking ship, you can forget about ever getting my money.

There's too many connections out there. Nobody will ever convince me that there's no relationship. I say support the shops that dont support the SRC...or better yet, support the shop that fought the SRC.

Donny doesnt own it, but they definatley seem affiliated, given all the evidence floating around. It is a TCO owned shop.

If you are fishing the little J or spruce creek, Spruce Creek Outfitters will give much better info.

Indy,

Word is Bill Anderson and Stroup own it.

Then just Bill.

Then Donny and Bill.

Then it's in the paper Donny's son owns it.

Now Tony owns it.

I wonder it they know owns it.

indsguiz - The shop by Indian Caverns is a TCO shop.  Eric Stroup opened it.  No one has a reasonable explanation for TCO to open a shop in State College and buy one in Franklinville (20 minutes away) other than the one is Franklinville is to service the Spring Ridge Club and/or run Spruce Creek Outfitters out of business.  Beaver tried to get rid of Spruce Creek Outfitters a while back with a WhOrvis shop at Six Springs where The Drake saw Eric Stroup guiding yesterday.  A WhOrvis shop couldn't put Spruce Creek Outfitters out of business, so an obvious Beaver supported run of the mill shop with guys that need to lie about how many years of experience sure as hell won't.

Steve and crew have taken care of our needs for many many years while providing guidance and suggestions to their customers.  TCO the Walmart of fly fishing isn't gonna get any of my nickles.  Bill Anderson is a good guy, the crews in TCOs smell like Beaver!! (Either kind)

Bill Anderson was a part of this whole mess when he owned part of Spruce Creek Fly Company (now TCO - Franklinville).  He spouted off about how he wasn't involved with Beaver years ago... he only guided his members and Beaver allowed him to use the Espy farm for some of theres.  Then he tells the Centre Daily Times that Beaver owns three miles of stream side properties the mouth of Spruce Creek upstream, but never posted it.  I have news for Bill Anderson and I'm sure all the landowners and railroad would too.  He's helped spread the propoganda Beaver puts out there and even worked with him to get the river to be catch and release.  Why would you work with Beaver to try and get something you want from the PAFBC?  Didn't they just take Beaver to court?  Now Bill Anderson wants the Little Juniata to be artificial lures only.  Guess who that helps... Beaver.  I don't trust that guy or his club either!
