when i lived there any one could fish at lake latonka from shore. it is patrolled and govn'd by the pa fish commision. you have to get a (free) pass though and you can't put in a boat unless you have property there. i believe it's the same still and you can find out by just calling the office. if you know someone and they are with you, you can fish there without a pass. i don't live there anymore but know people that do and have fished from shore since then without a problem. you still got to wear a lisc.
sorry, i didn't know the rules about being a favorite crappie lake i figured you guys would like the pictures anyhow.

Well SHHOOOOT,

I was hoping to fish Shenango for crappie this year.  I went once last year and caught a couple, plus white bass.  Ate em up, and don't think I glow...much.  Maybe will hit Moraine or Pymy then....sigh...

I never caught Crappie from Raystown, but have been with people that have.....they are HUGE.  I have heard that lake is polluted as well.

If I would have asked what everyone wanted, they would have responded that they wanted a better horse....Henry Ford

wilhelm is my home. difficult lake to fish, but if you spent as much time as myself on that water you'd know where to find them bigguns. Last year was a bad year. Although I did catch my biggest ever last year (15 3/4") but the majority were under 4" all year

STATEWIDE ADVISORY
Pennsylvania has issued a general, statewide health advisory for recreationally
caught sport fish. That advice is that you eat no more than one meal (one-half pound)
per week of sport fish caught in the state’s waterways. This general advice was issued
to protect against eating large amounts of fish that have not been tested or that may
contain unidentified contaminants.

That was such a wild move by the state. "There may be nothing wrong at all, and we don't know when we'll know if there is, so just in case don't eat much."

Chauncy,
How long does it take you to get to Kentucky Lake- Could be a good Spring Gobbler/Crappie Trip for me.
Thanks Mike

I can't say I agree that it's under fished.  Some years it is waaaay overfished.  Especially when the bay has a bad ice year.
