i wasn't aware that a question was ctritcism or a put down...

but since you mentioned it
rod in the mouth is the easiest way to destroy the cork and damage a blank...

obviously pictures taken in a parking lot or on a rope aren't C&R fish
but the C&R streamside pictures have people handling the fish in the same manner as parking lot fish

Get a good grip on the tail and you can pocket your hand on the belly right behind the pec fins no matter how "slimy" its the best spot to hold. When you put your fingers in their gills you risk the chance of ripping their gills which will kill the fish maybe not right away but it'll end up at the bottom of the creek.

FYI ~ Do whatever you want to the fish, PA stocks well over 1million fish yearly. Thats what their in the creeks for to enjoy them.

Moral of the story go catch a fish and smile. Hold them however you like and enjoy your time spent outdoors. You can never be sure what tomorrow brings.

Joker ~

i'm a big fan of grabbing by the tail... then bracing under the belly ( as joker's balls has shown)
also for the pic... reverse the hold on the tail as to not block any of the fish

alos love the swirlly face...
notice how little of the background is lost and the blend into the bill of the cap
also only one strrong swirl
well done sir

ALL nice pics boys, you should all be proud!  Enjoy the fishery, enjoy the fight and, above all, respect it.  Oh yeah, one more thing, just ignore the fish police 'round here too!

Love the pics!!

As for all the comments of fish handling.
Start a new thread and fire away all you want about fish handling. It comes up every year.
Better yet, explain it to people you see doing it on the stream.

As for this thread, pictures, more pictures.

Can't forget Ben.  I've been fishing with this kid since he was 5 or 6.  This is Bill's kid and one helluva fisherman.

Kjh,
Could it be said that the reason you don't post Grin and glory shots could stem from that fact that you may have photo shopped someone elses image and are reluctant to post your mug due to retaliation from your peers??? Just a thought...  :)  Besides all of that face swirl stuff make you look like a giant lollipop from the Dutch Pantry....

i am still waiting to see his skills
but i digress... no, the swirl started before the "brotherly love" picture made it's way onto the interwebs

but i have also dabbled into disgusies

Kjh807, Ok I got carried away! I do show respect for the fish. I can't stand seeing people kick them up the bank or even throwing a panfish 10 ft. to release it. I just hate to see people posting a picture of a fish they are proud of and get hammered, because they are not doing it up to someones standards. It happens too often. Ok! I feel better now. good fish'n!

the ignorant "its just a fish" comments are kind of mindblowing

my question is why would you want a picture of you thumb through the gills and out the mouth?
i think it ruins the picture

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

since you posted a pic of your  doggie and want more pics, Flash,
guess we can go off topic

another one of my obsessive hobbies I spend too much on

this qualifies as a "big'un I think

here's some nice 'uns

I make the grips for fun too

I even do a little gunsmithing for fun

this gun was  a bare bones stock, bottom shelf  model.
When I bought it new, it looked like this;

after  $250 in parts  and appx 80 hours of cutting, fitting, and finishing, it's now a one of kind
