Lol at glen let me know when you want to go fish will put it to the test. I have fished eggs both ways i am not saying what i said is the best in the world by no means. Just saying i tried it and it worked very nice. I fished upper Elk on Sunday morning and out of 11 guys i was the only guy catching fish on sacks i treated. Treated eggs do suck, so does powerbait, pink worms, and whatever new product the manufacturers cook up to separate you from a few bucks. Sure you can get a fish or two with them, just like the rubber balls the bait stores sell. Even a blind robin gets a worm or two. If you want to get way into double digit fish on a regular basis, learn how to make quality untreated eggs.

LOL> Here is my choice and have been using it for over 15 years. Atlas "Guide's Choice" Shake "N" Cure. add some food coloring for different colors and even some fish oil first to give them a different scent.
True fresh salmon eggs need water cure first before you even think about curing them.

my reply to pindrifter was meant to be taken in jest guys who start out shooting trap buy shells, guys who become trapshooters load their own. same goes for steelheading. the only difference is that new AA loads are fine, baitshop bags suck. the only reason people treat eggs is cause otherwise they would spoil. if you knew how to keep them raw without spoiling, wouldn't you?[ i'm talking about loose "shotgun" eggs, not skein]

And all my eggs are from browns that i harvest. Or the steelhead eggs are from fish i harvest. I buy nothing except the netting to tie my own bags. Thanks for the smart ares comments glen if that makes you feel better so be it. I have nothing to prove to you or anyone for that matter i know what i can do when i fish. Like i said again Glen anyday you like to share a drift you just let me know my friend.

i got some fly water that would give you goosebumps . sick of the easy bait fish, switching to the fly rod monday. picture a rift 4' deep , 60 yds. long. then look up and down 1/4 mile and never see a soul

Glen wasn't saying or taking anything wrong my friend, Just stating if you like to share a drift some time be cool with me. I would love to fish that nice fly water be great for my pin when a can get a 50 yard drift be sweet.
