Hows the rain fallin?

Checkin to see if anyone in erie could give a report on the rain/waterlevel situation. I see you venango and erie has a few days of it in the forecast. Its been raining/drizzling here for about an hour. Hope it keeps a coming. I hope to have descent conditions if I come up this weekend. Im not gonna be making but a couple trips this year. New baby, more work, less money, more spending, and less time are killing the fishing trips, lol. Tight lines to all.

Not enough fell this morning to do anything to the streams...  The dreary overcast/rainy weather made for a **** good day of fishing though.

Bigger question should be, how is the run off? The water table has been very low and it will take a lot of rain to bring it up. I was out on Sunday and the showers that fell did nothing to the stream. No increase in flow nor clarity of the water was effected. The only way to know is to take a look.
Looking at my indicator puddle we got some rain but not much ...

Shhhhh, lets not be talkin about rain, next thing you know you won't be able to get close to the streams.

Its NOT raining in Erie, we're in the middle of a drought!  No rain in the forecasts for at least another month.

There is more rain on the way today and the streams will come up sufficiently to move the fish in already upstream as well as bringing in a whole lot more.  What this means, is that even when the streams come back down to lower levels, which as noted is likely to happen quickly because the water table is probably quite low, is that more people can be accomodated further upstream and they will still be over fish.  Everyone with patience should stay home, though, not because you won't enjoy your outing, but rather so the rest will enjoy theirs more.

Erie got 1.5 inches of rain yesterday and overnight.  By those standards, my guess is the creeks are likely muddy with some flow.  Probably little flow and they'll be flowless in most sections by tomorrow morning.  They'll go from brown to clear.  The tribs need a big blow to get things going and green.  The summer muck still needs to be washed out.  1.5" isn't going to do it.  Close but no cigar.   That said, this evening and tomorrow morning, I'd be there if I could.   There are fish to be caught, there has been for weeks.  Gotta put something in the driftless water that appears to be breathing.   I don't know, just a thought.

My guess would be 16 - 12  =  creek.  Is there a new language about to be developed as a result of the new policy?  lol

Stay tuned boys and girls for big brother is watching what you post!

I checked the mouth of this unnamed creek, and the last 100 yards,
the flow is minimal, and depth about 3 inches. But I guess thy can crawl in. Didn't see any crawling in.

I checked, and dam won't be opened until next week.

I think we still need more rain.

ok im not looking for specific spots just the name of the creek in the picture and honestly is there enough fish in walnut to make a 95 minute drive up  also i think the policy about nameing ur spots is kinda dumb and can u mention the name if its on public property
