Pennsfan, some counties like mine are doing just that.  I got an alert early today that vaccines are available for this afternoon in Dutchess County NY.

I received my second dose of Moderna this weekend as did my wife.  Other than some mild discomfort for 24-36 hours in the area of the injection no other complaints like some have experienced.

Good luck to those still waiting.

If the shots are available, as the article states, why not give them out in the US to those who have not been able to get one yet, which is most of the population, before shipping the to our neighbors?

DarDys, there have been issues reported with the Astrazeneca vaccine with people getting blood clots.  While it's a small percentage perhaps Biden is dumping them on our neighbors to the north and south.

Well, I keep finding tons of openings and options now. Given that a huge majority of working people have just been eligible since yesterday. This is very strange because availability for only a small percentage had limited options. No its not because we have a vast amount more vaccine all the sudden when you run the numbers vs eligible.

I just upgraded to April 11th in Albany with Pfizer ( still)

Maybe in NY, but not in PA with regard to openings.

AstraZeneca isn’t approved in the U.S. yet, thus handing off reserved doses is no loss to us right now.

So it is approved in Canada and Mexico, but not the US? Why isn’t it? And when will it be?

Read an article on msn this morning that the AstraZeneca vaccine is expected to be approved in the US in April, so at max, less that 45 days out and probably shorter.

So the question still is, why give doses away (or sell them for the capitalist crowd) to other countries before everyone in the US that wants a shot, gets a shot — not can maybe get a shot by “X” date, depending on a lot of factors that may or may not come through, but actually get a shot?

Considering that they dont have to be frozen the idea of early distribution would work nicely for a later mass innoculation - but then little done by this administration seems well thought out  in any America first way.

My understanding is that the doses aren’t being given away, or sold, but rather loaned to our neighbors who are able to use them now with an expected repayment of doses in the future.

Like loaning tools to your neighbor or money to your brother-in-law — lol. Good luck seeing them again.

Reagan did the amnesty now secure the border later--he did it to get border security cooperation.
It didnt work as they never secured the border.
Trump pretty much secured most of the border and the new guy opened it up again.

Now they are talking amnesty again.
Whats that old saying bout doing the same thing over and over expecting different results---

Got second shot today. No side effects thus far.

My wife had her second last week. No issues until almost exactly 24 hours later. She then got nauseous, cold sweats, and throbbing arm. Tylenol took care of it after a few hours, although her arm was sore for 3-4 days.

Good deal Dar. I had a few hrs of discomfort ( chills) and sore arm after my second dose. Some I've known had similar mild things and most nothing.
I was a willing subject. I understand those not and at this stage of the pandemic, I don't agree with government segregation/ discrimination being suggested.
Let's just go fishing

About 24 hrs after my second moderna shot I got a fever and felt generally crappie. (Ha!) Although they say the anti-inflammatories are fine for the symptoms, I got this idea that the discomfort was evidence that my body was doing what it was supposed to to create antibodies and I didn’t want to blunt that process, so, I didn’t take anything. Probably over-thinking it. Anyway, after 8 or so hours the fever and discomfort disappeared in an instant.

We are making appointments for the other 2 girls this week ( 15 n 13). The oldest got her first dose couple of weeks ago. She had a sore arm but that was it.

If Superintendents around the country are serious about getting back to normal this coming fall, you would think they would have clinics right at the school starting now, into the summer. Just another thought on getting shots in arms.

It's pretty typical once you get on them.
I landed 7 lost another 4 in 4 hours fishing after work last night. The biggest was 38".
These fish are over 120 miles up river from the ocean and don't stick around very long

Hero to zero. Can't buy a bite tonight.
Jack, if you think you can mimic a 10 " herring and get it 36 feet down in a tidal current, you might catch one on a fly rod. I've tried for a lifetime and we produce with live bait
