Watched an outdoor show where 2 biologists have been studying the rut. They said the Northern part of the US this year would have a "trickle rut"-something to do with temps and moon phases.
 Their prediction was a visible rut start in late Sept followed by a complete stoppage and then a slow season long rut that may not be very visible.  These guys said not to worry-all the does get bred. They said its the does going into heat in a slower stretched out manner.
  They advised  there might be a very good response to scents,  grunting and rattling cause its the does slowing things down, the bucks are looking.
   Then theres my bud who says bucks dont grunt- they just get excited and Fart.
