2024 fall shotgun

Been out a number of times lately-most in afternoon till dusk, called a bobcat and a red fox.Havent even seen a bird walking in far fields or even Deer, great mast crop must be keeping them in the woods, orr too many predators.Cant get around too far anymore but this is unusual on this farm even wit..

Hunt spring turkey this year? Spring seems to be coming earlier and earlier every year. Pretty darn green an thick already when the season opened. I was fortunate and filled both tags the first week on 2 year olds. Anybody else see success this spring?..

2023 spring turkey

Finally got back out this morning after the very quiet opener. Closed the deal on the 2 year old at 6:30 off of the roost. I set up to close and was right in them when they started gobbling. I had three with the closest at 50 yards...

2022 spring gobbler

How is it going for everybody? I just got a tagged wrapped on a good one this morning. He was the 7th longbeard I have have had in bow range this season and was finally able to get a a good shot and an arrow into one. Not a heavy bird but honest 1.5 inch spur and 11 inch beard...

Spring turkey....

Hoping to get my daughter out for youth day on April 24th (I think that's the day). Last year we weren't early enough and someone was in the spot I wanted to be....hopefully this year turns out better.On the way to dek hockey traveling the back roads to get on I-70 yesterday evening, saw 10 or 11 go..

Headless Turkey

Found a dead turkey with its head and neck missing. What could have gotten it? I talked to a trapper and he said it was probably an owl. Any one else have any thoughts on this?..
