Deep Creek Md.

I might have a chance later this summer to fish at deep creek lake in maryland. I was wondering if anybody has done this lately and if you could tell me what I might need to do as far a fishing license goes. Also would you happen to know the cost for fishing? I think we might go for 2 or 3 days.

Thanks tank38....

Tank, I fish there several days a year. I bought an out-of -state license for the year and it was $51 dollars. They charge the same as we charge for their non-residents. They do have a cheaper 3 day and maybe a 1 day. You can get on the Fish Deep Creek.com site. They usually have some reliable reports as well. Beautiful lake to fish. Approx. 3,900 acres with just about all species. If there's any one negative, the boat traffic after 11 a.m. kind of sends you for some strange drifts. But there are enough coves, or fish early or late and you should do well. Hope this helps.   lou

Theres a shop nearby to by a license also. I think there is two actually nearby right off the lake. I know the fishing for most species is really great down there. I plan on heading there in the fall.

    Thanks guy's..
This will be the only time that I make it down there this year, so a couple day pass is all I will need.
Do they sell the 3 day license at shops close to the lake? And if so, do you know the name of the shop.

Last time i fished deep creek I was young enough not to need a license, but I was in eastern MD last summer and it was around $25 for a three day.  It'd probably be the same for you, or at least in that general price range.
