Rapala11,
I'm single I don't have to ask!   But at this time I wonder why I have sooooo much stuff and I don't have the good health to enjoy it!    My biggest wish would be to have my legs back under me the way they should work.

I won't get into equipment I purchase to catch all those walleye , perch , & winter steel but I would estimate the following for 20+ steel trips & 3 weekends a month June - September with 2-4 guys sharing the bill .
My costs alone ...

Steel trips per two days approximately

$25.00 lodging at campground
$30.00 gas
food $ 50.00
105 x 20 = $ 2020 or a little more .

Walleye / Perch runs per weekend

Gas $ 70.00
Bait for perch $10.00
Crawlers $ 10.00
Lodging $15.00
Food $50.00

$155.00 per weekend @ 12= $1860

Grand total of $3880 per year as for equipment that figure is about the same . However ; I live to fish and the SHOULD be my # 1 expense. I'd spend ALL my money for this sport if I did not have to be a somewhat responsible adult .... LOL It's pretty scary to think about the other tag alongs but if you take that by 3 it is $11,640 or by 5 $19400 so that is what we flow into the economies from SW PA to Erie county . Not including boat storage fees ect , ect .

lets see i live with in a mile of the bait store "Amandas" and the creek is less than a mile from that. The bait store was brand new and had (still does) good prices. think i paid $2 a dozen for shiners then bought 2 dozen just about every weekend some times 4 dozen say 26 weeks give or take  so say $75 paid maybe another $75 on hoocks line and things my clothes consited of my carheart a hunting hat my hunting/fishing work boot all things i have had for years and on some days alot of socks so nothing there.. the wife bought me a nice neopreme pair of gloves for christmas.. so i would say around $150 but no were near as much as i would have paid to spend the time on the creeks with buddies everyweekend all winter   oh and more steelies than i can count

Just figgured out how much gas it took me to get to erie and back this weekend.  4 gallons one way  =  $16.00.

One way to erie is still cheaper than the cigarettes I have to buy to make it through the weekend....Pretty bad.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

I put $96 worth of gas in my truck before going to Bradford/Kinzua Memorial weekend.
Another $80 while there
$30 in the Glastron (did not go far)
Another $90 in truck when I got back to Da Berg.

And I did not even make time to fish!
Tried to take nephew, dad and sis on boat Sun-batteries dead- Storage place said they charged them
Sunday night charged batteries and had Wally World test Monday.
2 good batteries 1 bad Optima-put 2 good batteries in boat. Did not get new $170 Optima yet
Tuesday mom and dad spent too much time watching the weather channel and Buffalo or Erie news.
Forecast was possible scattered thunderstorms so no-one would go with me-weather was beautiful all day.
Wednesday temp dropped and it was windy but dad and I did make it out.
Boat started and ran good but there was a pinhole leak in an upper water hose-duck taped till replaced Thurs then back to picksberg

Time with dad---PRICELESS

We towed a boat to Erie from Grove City a few weeks ago.  Towing vehicle gas cost - about $50, not including gas in the boat.

That's going to mean a renewal of largemouth bass fishing in local lakes and strip mines and more paddling on French Creek and the Allegheny!!~

FORGET THE GAS ETC. I FISHED 50 DAYS LAST FALL AND WINTER. IF I HAD WORKED I WOULD HAVE MADE $400.00 A DAY. I STILL THINK MY PRIORITIES ARE RIGHT                    GLEN

Made one trip, my first, and spent less than $200.00 total.  Split up the room, gas, and food with three other guys.  Would pay and will pay what ever it takes to feel the tug of my first steelhead again.  I am forever addicted and we already have our plans made for October.  Tight lines.

...just watch for the twitch and then bring on the thunder!
