Dollar Wise Fly

Dollar Wise Fly is a new show on Versus. A good friend of mine is involved with making it happen. There have been three shows so far and I think it's pretty good. Please check it out on Friday Nights.
Conway (the host) travels around showing you how to go on a fishing trip "on the cheap".
Week 1 he fished for Redfish.
Week 2 for Sharks in the flats.
Week 3 He went out west to do some October Trout fishing.

If all goes well and there is a season 2 there may be a chance he'll come to our area to do a show. I can't give up more than that. Just watch!

Also The Huntley way (Huntley Ritter) is another Cool dude. Watch his factory working butt too.

And yes- this is blatant pimping.

I think I watched it this past friday.  It was filmed somewhere in Colorado, maybe the Roaring Fork River?

I will try to catch a bit of the show tonight while I resort my panfish tackle and respool my lines for the Great Weekend Crappie hunt which starts tomorrow at Raystown.

Im starting to lose interest in this show.....very rapidly.  It has been pretty much all saltwater fishing(like tonight) with the exception of one episode.  I really wish there were some decent shows on that focused exclusively on fly-fishing for trout.  I guess I am just not interested in saltwater fishing, I would rather see shows that relate to the kind of fishing I do.

Just the fact that a show is on that goes fly only is good for me.
Plus anyone can catch Trout. I like seeing diff. locals. & fish.
Most would zero out fishing a diff. water every week. Not every fishery is the same as the one in the back yard.
I just enjoy diversity on the fly. I guess that's why I just got this new Danielsson in. Best reel I've ever held. Look out Red fish.......

Lets make one, I can think of enough creeks in pa to keep us busy for quite some time.

I cant really think of a show that focuses on fly fishing for trout. You'd think there would be a lot of interest in one. I occasionally like to watch "cast and blast" just because of the fishing, not so much because of the hunting. Watching bird hunting is right up there with golf, if you ask me. Dont get me wrong, I like hunting birds, I just dont like to watch it on the tube.

On second thought, I did see a trout specific flyfishing show on pbs on a sunday afternoon a month or two ago. I dont remember the name of it, but it wasn't too bad.

I guess it will up to me and Jeremy to make a decent trout fishing show.

I watch alot of different fishing shows, for the most part they are better than anything else on.  However I can't stand watching bass fishing, that to me is the worst.  Other than that I like watching just about any freshwater fishing.  The only saltwater fishing I like to watch is tarpon and billfish fishing.

As far as hunting shows, I really only like watching elk and deer archery hunts.  Bird hunting definately is painful to watch.  My biggest gripe about hunting shows is that I dont care to watch them from January-July, put some more fishing shows on!
