I’m out now, just because it is the opening day. The leaves on the trees really limit visibility. The deer, if there are any, will be right on top of me before I see them. No chance to see them coming to get ready.

I don’t pin much hope on this evening. I was out working in the yard since just after sun up and I never heard a shot.

Work beckoned me this morning, so I had to wait till the afternoon. Saw one small doe a few different times. Had to cut it short at 6:30. When I walked back out to the house this is what I saw. I go into the woods to hunt, and the deer come to the house to hang out 😕. Just a fawn, but thought it was funny. Maybe they're hunting me....😨

I hope everyone that had the opportunity to hunt enjoyed their day. It was a beautiful day to be outdoors. I worked today.

Hope everyone had a good first day of bow season . If ya didn’t fill your tag hope at least ya enjoyed the day . Trying to get used to this no hunting anymore I know I will miss it but hey at 69 it was time. I gave my stands and crossbow to my grandson so he can have more areas to hunt . Gave the camera , ranger finder and all that good stuff . He hit it hard today in woods at 5:45 AM , saw a spike and 4pt by 7:30 and some doe he was pumped just being out. Told him to take your time and shot straight but also told him I only have 2 packages of burger left in my freezer .... lol

Get-er done guys .... GOOD LUCK !!

At 73 gave away my tree stands a year or two back so as not to be tempted.
Got real unsteady up there last time soooo it was the last time.
This year didnt even buy archery tags--
Miss it after over 50 years of bow hunting.

Usually have a deer down by now an ending my hunting season, really only in it for the meat an gets in the way of fall fishing.

Strip job went up below our woods and the deer been detouring around, probably will wrap it up today til closer to rut unless I start seeing signs or on the trail cameras. Deer hunting has gone way downhill for me lol

Went out to Nebraska, did the spot and stalk public land antelope thing with the bow, had a blast but didn’t get one. Next time I am bringing a decoy. Ended up shooting a big whitetail doe just to have some meat.

Been out a couple times Here, things are a jungle still. Probably gonna go sit a field edge this evening and try to stick another doe, I don’t have a lot of faith in getting a buck mid October.

I'm excited for this season got a totally new arrow set up on my bow and got my heads razor sharp no more cheap bendy heads for me (if I don't loose em) got plenty of big bucks around as usual I won't see any 😅😅 good luck to all!

What is your arrow set up? I switched things up this year as well. Went with FMJ 12.0gpi, and I am running some new broadheads as well. Went with the montecs that have the open spaces on them.

hunted twice this week in southern 2d. once with my son and once by myself which is rare. saw a spike running like his tail was on fire with my son. saw nuttin by myself, except the landowner and his wife out for a stroll at 5:30, right past the tree stand. said hi and chatted for a few minutes. then right at prime time the neighbor’s son decided to go for a stroll in a hundred yard loop around me.

got one decent buck on trail cam and a four point. standing corn all around is suppressing deer movement as it always does on this property. won’t see much there till it gets cut so time to move on to a few other 2d and 2b spots.

my buddy’s son put one through the boiler room of a 7 point this am in northern 2d. he said he’s never seen so much blood but it totally dried up at 125 yards and they backed out. haven’t heard back from him to see if they found it yet.
