Brant Lake

Has anyone fished Brant Lake at all this season?. We are planning a day trip Sunday. Also, DEC contour maps make no mention of trout being in there. I had thought there were at least brown trout in there. Anyone have any info on this?. Thanks and good luck out there. Steve.

There are brown trout in Brant. Not sure of lakers or rainbows though. I've never fished it, but some of my co-workers have.

    Steve:

Brant Lake also has the NY State record for Channel Catfish @ 32lbs.12oz.

Thanks for the info guys. I am looking forward to getting out to the big lakes up north this week. Brant Lake Sunday and most likely Schroon Lake Tuesday or Wednesday (or both). I was reading the Sportman's Connection book on Brant Lake. They have basically the same info as DEC, but they also state that in addition to the browns there are definitely rainbows and northern pike as well. Lots of coves and islands to work with. We nailed a ton of good size perch last year on Brant Lake in the cove just north of the resort beach on the east side of the lake near the huge white mansion(Excellent tip from the guys at fish307). Good Luck to all and hopefully we will run into you guys sometime on Saratoga Lake. We have yet to fish there yet this year.
