Godfrey

Since I don't fish steelhead and Godfrey is closed, I guess I can ask this question.  Is that stream actually culverted south of the ford dealer and for a short portion along 20 before it goes into the ag fields?  I was looking at it on the aerial photos today and it looks to be a mess in that area.  Second since no one can fish it.  Can steel get that far up that stream?

I've fished the lake at the mouth and I really doubt that they can get more than a couple hundred yards up the stream with the man made waterfalls they have to hold the fish in the pools so they can be reared out whenever they need them.  Its pretty much the same way with trout run.  But anythings possible I guess...

    Hi Musky.
Your right, even more, that Godfrey recieves water from Fairview Twp. when the water is higher. The head water springs start up around Franklin Road / Rt.98. When the rains / snow melt add to the flow, water build up at Rt.20. The ground is so sandy - gravel that water will soak in rapidly in that farmers field by Rt.20
I don't think they can go much past Rt.5 toward Rt.20. In the 1950's that feeder ran toward Fairview, but when Rt.20 was made 4 lanes, the water was sent west toward Girard.
    Tight line.

Thanks.  It just amazes me the mess they let people turn those streams into before the 80's..
