I happen to favor the sage's. I like the older models: rpl, rpl+ and the rplx's. I own a scott rod and they always seemed soft to me.

rapala11, i have a scott rod and am very pleased with it and the service i recieved when i broke the tip off of it. if you find a shop that stocks scott rods to try out, let me know. i plan on getting another multipiece rod in 2008. i was leaning to a winston, but would like to see how the scott looks and feels. thanks, ~dt

I have 3 Sages and love them 4WT , 5WT and a 6WT. Can't give a opinion on the Scotts never fished one. All I can say is if you get a Sage you can't go wrong.

There will be days when fishing is better than ones optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

    50 cents vs 2 quarters

Try them both that you are considering and see which one feels better to you.

Next time your in Eire, stop by the Ultimate Angler store, they have some nice Scott's and Sage's for you to look and feel.  That may help make up your mind.

Try the Sage. I love mine. I own two five WT TCR and Z-Axis , one 3 WT DS2, and a 4 WT DS2.
