Wouldn't touch that Force engine with a 10 ft. pole!

I saw that boat last week at Deep Creek MD.  It looks really clean.  it is small but still in really good condition.

Not a fan of force motors either but to answer your question, that boat is very under-powered. Would need to upgrade to a 200 to be comfortable with the HP, for me.

I would love to have a boat like that. I would also love to have a job that paid me enough money where I could not only afford to buy a boat like that, but also to buy the gas for a truck that would pull it to Erie. LOL!

Trophy's are light boats, it'd probably be fine with a 120. Guessing boat, trailer and motor weigh around 4,000. Notice the single axle trailer, you could pull it with a mid size truck or SUV easy. Have seen a few of them that size and there's not much room in them because of the motor...

The motor is outside the boat so why would it take up fishing space?

I have a 19' Trophy, with a 125 Merc. Sufficient power to get her on plane with 3-4 on board. More than that, it struggles to come up. Mine weighs in at 3800#. That boat, a foot longer and with a cuddy ( which mine does not have ) I "guess" 500-800 pounds heavier. You're not going to get blazing speeds out of that motor ( mine will do 35-38 mph on a fairly calm lake ). But should be enough to get the job done, and safely. Though you may find yourself "lugging" a bit in heavier waves. I've had mine in solid 6-8's, with the occassional 10, and while uncomfortable as [link=mailto:h@ll]h@ll[/link], was never fearful. The preformance difference between a Force & Merc ( don't know what that may be ) could be a factor too, as well as proper prop match..

I used to pull my 19 footer with a 4 cyl. Tacoma. It LOOKED downright ridiculous, and the truck definately knew it was back there. But it had no problems pulling it.  It did cut the gas milage in half though.

The way they're built the motor bay is recessed into the deck area, you lose almost as much room as you would with a dog box in there...

The 20ft walkarounds I've seen have 200 hp max. I've read there's a rule of thumb that anything less than 75% max hp is considered underpowered (I read that in Trailer Boats magazine). I figure that is the reason that alot of manufactorers of 20 ft walkarounds put 150s on the back of them (Sea Hunt, Sailfish, etc).

My guess is you could probably get by with that motor strictly for fishing. I'd forget about pulling a skier though.

Check that motor out real good. I've never owned a Force, but they do not have a good reputation. If you got a little change leftover, perhaps consider a kicker motor for that boat. That way, the only hrs you would rack up on the force motor would be to / from the fishing location (all trolling would be with the kicker of course) and if you did have a problem with the force, at least you'd have something in the means of back up power. Granted, motoring 10 miles on Lake Erie using something under 20 hp would take along time. But at least you'd have something in the way of power.

Also check that hull out for any moisture in the stringers, transom, or floor.

Outboard Bayliners used to come with Force motors. Trophy's and Bayliners used to be one-in-the-same back then.

Wanderer's right. Take your time. The fall "buyers" season will be upon us soon.
