Photo Thread

There hasn't been a good picture thread on the forum for a while... I figured with the nice weather the past month, some of you guys have been hitting the hatches too. If you have been, feel free to add your pics.

Here's some of mine from the past month.

A rock from the local bug factory. Anyone want to play name that bug?

A grannom caddis orgy

More Grannoms

Are you sure those bugs you are referring to as Little Black Caddis aren't just Grannoms as they get smaller during the six weeks of the hatch?

Gheez, no wonder you asked for help in the "name that bug" photo.  Those aren't mosquitos.  They don't have those sticker thingees on their nose that they sting you with.  You really need to buy a bug book or something self published about being a trout bummer and guide or something.

I decided to hit some caddis last night.  Literally

Hit the windshield wipers and washer. Big mistake.

Dry fly snobs waitin' on bugs.

Lots of nice and chunky fish with big shoulders this year. Seems the norm on the j is moving away from long and slender. It is rare I go less than 5x but it's the theme this year. It adds an element of stealth which is a nice change from 350-400 cfs water.

There are going to be some disappointed folks this year showing up with boxes full of bugs that are long gone.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

Last night, a guy asked me when the grannoms will start hatching. I told him next year. He couldn't believe he missed it. Any other year his timing would have been right on.

That trout is hooked perfectly in the beak.  It must have been an UF or maybe even an UUF that caught that one.  Mere mortals can't do that.
