Throttle & cable wiring for kicker

I am looking to wire a seperate throttle cable and control for my kicker. It is a 96 Evinrude 9.9. It currently operates with a tiller. Where would be the best and most reasonable place to purchase this? What is the difficulty level to hooking one of these to the motor?

Thanks!

Side Mount Single Lever Control - UflexPart # B183

    • Single lever/dual action control to operate both throttle and shift
    • Suitable for any type of boat with outboard, inboard or I/O power plants
    • Enables easy and safe shifting by preventing accidental gear engagement unless engine is idling
    • Can be installed horizontally or vertically
    • The lever assembly is made of painted marine aluminum
    • Provided with a brake tension release system adjustable from outside
    • Pull-out handle disengages shift for warm up
    • Neutral safety switch prevents in-gear starting
    • For use with all Teleflex engine control cables except CC170 and CC189

measure what size cables you need ...not hard

Trust me, get a troll master to controll your throttle. It is a major PIA to make small adjustments with a standard remote or even with the tiller. You still have to shift the kicker in to gear but that's easy to do when you start it. You'll have more work and just a's much money in putting the remote...

if you want a seperate control box youd have to buy the parts to convert the motor from a tiller first....crowleymarine.com has parts for older johnson/evinrude decent prices....i think controllking has a digital throttle control for those motors(similar to trollmaster) the servos operates the throtle the same way just a different mounting bracket different engines....there was 4 of them in the bargain cave at cabelas in wheeling last week for 100 bucks regularly 240...i bought one of them. if you want to run one of those call the guy up at controllking he charges around 10 dollars for the servo mounts for different engines
