when does the bay heat up for bass action?

We're new to the bay/lake.Would like to know when the bay usually reaches 50?  reaches 60? We are STRICTLY C&R. Thanks for the help and hope to see you on the water!

The water can't warm until the weather does.   I haven't been there since last week, water was in low 40's then, and it certainly hasn't gotten any warmer since, may have gotten colder.

The long range forecast doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon either.  You'll need at least a week of high air temps near 60 to warm the water up.

We did catch a few largemouth last week and weren't even targeting them.

I can't speak for the bay, but I start bass fishing out on the lake the first weekend of May. On that weekend, the temperature reading on my depth finder is ussually around 52 degrees. Things are still a little slow then, but the fish I catch are nice sized.

I'm strictly catch and release when it comes to bass.

I highly doubt you could answer the question, Ted.
