colder weather

How will  the colder weather affect the fishing on the streams. This is my first year steelie fishin and was just curious as to the action when the stream temps drop.

Fishing still stays good as long as theres no hard water.  Icy guides and cold hands play a part in winter fishing along with cold feet.  The flows generally stay decent if they have some snow south of erie so you have run off most days of the winter.  Fish become very sluggish and most don't fight real hard.  The same baits work but require a perfect drift to hit the fish rite in their faces.  If you dress properly and use the rite equipment you should have no problems winter steelheading.

    Only better.
Low 20's, icy guides, reels frozen, and cold hands=even odds on landing a fish.
Actually the odds are this fish will win.

It's true.  Cold weather has more of an effect on fishermen than the fish.

Yeah. Everyone would have ignored all the great fishing of the past few weeks, and quit now that it's cold. SURE they would.

Ok, YOU keep blaming your misery on phantom demons. The fact is, that not 5 people would base their decision to fish, or not on what is posted on this thread. You are probabley one of those guys that cried for more fish, and now that they have attracted thousands of anglers, want to blame the internet rather than your own greed.

and you know this, how? what a stupid comment based on nothing.
the only reason you have no problem with publicizing the fishery via internet is YOU DONT FISH...
sure you might drive mup' to go to a meeting once a month and maybe wet a line for half a day, but you are no real fisherman. I have NEVER seen you fishing.
I guess if I never fished it would'nt bother me either.

Tell that to my wife, PR's, the odometer on my truck, and just about anyone who actually know who I am.

That's because I don't fish at the Stop sign hole, or in your bedroom, which is where I'm sure you spend most of your time hiding.

It should be an excellent day today with few on the stream!!
Anyone who will put up with a Lake effect storm while fishing is all right with me. I know 79 will be a mess this morning with cars sliding off the road. It is because most muppers cannot drive in snow.

Be careful on I-79 it can be very bad in between. Snow tires a must even on a 4 x 4. Also be prepared for spending a extra days if a lake effect occurs. The interstates in Erie County can be closed for a day or more. A few fish are not worth harm to you or others.
