Wacky style fishing?

I have been hearing a lot about this wacky-style way of rigging a soft plastic. I hear it works great! Could somebody please give me some incite?

P.S Is this tool I was told about really necessary to fish wacky-style?

Ya wacky style can be very effective, whenever ive thrown it ive used a senko which has really good falling action.  The tool isnt necessary, it just helps the worm last longer.  Especially when your using a senko you might only get 2 fish on it before it starts falling apart.  You can drop shot the wacky style as well.  Try it out, i just use Owner wacky hooks they got a weed guard on em.

That is the only rig you really need throughout the summer as long as you rig it weedless

another thing you can do while using a wacky setup. Ive been using this for the last couple of years and it really makes the plastics last longer. I get a small rubberband and double or triple twist it over it self and put it over the center of the worm. then just put your hook under the rubberband and you dont put you hook into the worm at all. never had a problem. and its alot cheaper than the kit you were showing and does the same thing.

Wont the worm rip off of the hook easily if you hook it through the worm like that. What makes me think this is the action of the bait. That rubber ring around the worm seems to be the most effective way of fishing it to save the bait.
