Trolling Motor

2003 Minn Kota Trolling Motor Hand Control, Bow Mount, 42" Shaft, 74lb thrust, 24 volt with extender. Pictures available upon request. Excellent shape. $250 Please call Ross at 724-355-3247.

    Do you think that motor would troll around a 21.5 ft. fiberglass boat in lake erie in 2 ft. waves? Can you run 2, 12 volt batteries in series to reach your 24 volts?

    Yes.



    This pic doesn't show up too clear, but you just wire the (-) of one 12 volt to the (+) of the other 12 volt. Then hook the motor to the remaining (+) on the one batt. & the remaining (-) on the other battery.
    An inline fuse is a good idea too.

    Speed Demon - No
     
    Might have a run time of about 4 hours on full batteries, depending on wind.

    Thanx for the help fellas. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do yet. Right now I'm running a trolling plate which seems to work for a while, but that old motor likes to conk out sometimes at an idle.
