Meadow Run

Is there fish spread throughout this whole stream, i seen guys fishing down near the 381 at the parking lot then i drove up the hill and parked on the left and walked the trails, found some decent water.  are there any fish up this way near the cascades? what are some good flies to use up there, i dont have a flyrod yet so im limiting to fishing wet flies with spinning reel or maybe some spinners? whats good to use up there?  thanks, the scenery is amazing well worth the walk even i dont catch anything

try kast masters the blue and silver ones the smalles ones you can find and take the treble hook off and put a single barbless hook on and fish with 2 or 4 pound test fishing line and you will catch them and the trail you walk and ends at a big pool has some small browns your best bet is the holes below the natural water slides

The last time they stocked, they only went from the bridge on 381 up to where the steps go down from the parking lot. There were 20-30 fish in every hole. This was about four weeks ago. I think they should have spread them out a lot more. I walked from the bridge on Dinnerbell Road down past the cascades and saw three fish.

Try Dunbar Creek. I was up there hunting last Friday. I stopped at the parking lot back in Betty Knox and checked out the creek. It's loaded. Some are nice size.

Sorry my man you just arent looking hard enough.  I frequent meadow on a pretty consistent basis and without giving up too much there's definetly fish by the bridge.  I was there about 5 times since the fall stock and have been very successful.  TransAM66 check your inbox.

also if you want a good start you can go to ohiopawl (sorry cant spell) you can catch these small 6-7 inch trout on a dry fly i find it fun and if you get bored you can go to medow run.if you want to know what to catch theme on try a green wenie and a prince nymph and bounce it on the bottem and you will catch them.

Transam nymphs are your best bet ya drys will work but you put on a small indicator and a small weight you'll have fun all day. I'd use a honeybug and just hammer them at meadow run and dunbar creek. Small wet flys are excellent as well. Good luck to you.

Honeybugs are a slang term for a glo-bug if im not mistaken?  and those little 7 inch trout that are being caught are the little guys that the PFBC stocks,  make sure these fellas are returned to the water safley.  They run into meadow and almost any tributary, so keep that in mind when u want to do some exploring,  heres another hint, they have been stocking these little fellas for awhile, take a walk around and see what you can find one might have just grown up in places you'd never expect.  Ohiopyle is an amazing place.

What Loomis said is true. Without going into specifics I will say this - there is trout in that system as large or larger than Erie. I have caught and seen some UNREAL trout there.
