Say something nice about the PGC

The PGC gets bashed a lot with their unpopular decisions. Let's make a list of positive things about the PGC.

The land management guys in my area are great people.

The local WCO is a great guy.

I have judged a top land management guy from NW PA in dog competitions and he is a great guy.

They have a great museum at Middle Creek.

The new license system is much improved over the old way (although the "sold out" feature on theit doe tags is about 4 days ahead of the individual noticifation that you were awarded one -- a tad frustrating).

The field guys have a tough job to do and for the very most part, do it very well.

See, I don't hate the PGC.

I just disagree with theri deer program.  One item.

I never met a WCO that wasn't polite and professional. I've heard some stories about deputies, but nonje of the regular WCOs I've ever spoken to had that cocky "I'm a cop and dont you forget it" attitude you get from some police.

My brother and I were checked for alchohol and guns once in a gamelands parking lot. They even checked our thermos for booze. We were just going to do some scouting, and were not drinking or poaching. The officers did a nice job of letting us go for doing nothing wrong.

Other than the PF&BC their the only government agency that you can CHOOSE to ( buy purchasing a license ) to fund, or not fund.

Get Informed, Get Involved, And Make A Difference.

    Step Up, or Step Aside

So what happens when someone exercises their "god given" right to hunt, something thats been engrained in mankind for thousands of years.

...and they "choose" NOT to fund the game commission?

Gimme a break. Most arent paying because they are choosing to fund or not fund the gameless commission, because if that were the case, pgc would be broke considering the high rate of disapproval. Most pay because its cheaper than the alternative. You would fund them anyway, infact they'd be recieving even more funding via the cash you'd be fined.

Besides, why the hell would a hunter penalize HIMSELF by quitting hunting, something he loves, because of pgcs unacceptable obtuse goals & alliances? Isnt it a more reasonable solution from his standpoint to lobby for the "problem" to be fixed instead of giving up and allowing it to continue for everyone else?

as for the topic, say something nice, I appreciate the job most wcos and land management personell do, and as for upper staff/management, sorry, cant think of anything.

I have had the pleasure of meeting some WCO's that were nice guys. I also agree on some of their programs as well. I'm not 100% anti PGC. If people don't bring up the problems then things will never improve. Get involved, voice your opinion to your state reps. Your voice is important.
