Anyone hear about 22pt

My hunting buddy told me that a guy he works with shot a 22pt TYPICAL. He talked to the guy and saw pictures of it. He is going to get me pics of it. I believe he is telling the truth. He said they are looking at it now to see if it is a state record. It is a Pittsburgh deer. There is a long story he told me about this buck, with scouting it and ect. Just wondering if anyone else heard anything?? Timmy

    Barry Kern 2010

    Pennsylvania record?

    October 26, 2010

This 14 point whitetail should be setting some records for the Keystone State. Barry's archery buck is estimated to be a young deer, only 3 1/2 or 4 1/2, but he sure sports impressive antlers. It is reported to have a green gross score of 189. A buck of this caliber has the potential to be the new Pennsylvania archery record and will also place very high in B&C typical entries from the state as well

    George Block
Clarksville's Kern could make B&C book
This article has been read 2823 times.

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned the rarity of a typical Pennsylvania whitetail buck that would top the Boone & Crockett minimum score of 170.
Just a couple of days ago, I held a Washington County rack that I am sure will top that number.
Barry Kern of Clarksville shot a 14-point recently that, while I didn't score it, I watched John Dino and Bobby Rogers green score. As a B&C official measurer, I am not supposed to green score bucks, but I let them do it as I watched.
Kern's buck had a gross score of 189 and a net score of 174. It will be 60 days before we can give the buck an official score, but I doubt if this monster will lose all that much.
It should be the second buck from Washington County to enter the B&C book in the typical category.
I'll let you know 60 days from now.

On HPA and Bowsite there are pics of big guy from Elk County public land (supposedly) that is a doozy.  20 some pts and grossing over 200 P&Y.  In a couple of the pics it has a PA tag on the antler.  It is definitely a great buck, no matter what the story is.
