Another freekin wader ?

Get this.....after reading all the posts on how people are percived on the socail hierarchy by the waders they wear....I decided to upgrade. I threw away my camo neoprene....I'm posing as a fly guy dam it....I couldn't continue my sharede in camo neoprene....so I upgraded.....I wanna be accepted....you guys know how much that means to me.

I bought a apir of X brand beathables with a year waranty. After wading around in them in the bay a few times....when I come home my legs (in jeans) feel "damp"....I never owned breathables before. Am I sweating?.....or are the legs "seeping" My pants dont realy seem so much wet as damp...Its weird..........I'm ready to sell them for bait and treble hooks.

I think its just sweat, when i fish all day in my neoprenes or breathables, my jeens are damp also. And its not seeping, cause ive sweat before when not even walking far and the waters 34 degrees. And if it where seeping id be able to tell real quick

Prob just sweat. the big camos have some room to lety air in and out. Breathables tend to conform to the lower legs esp stocking foot.

I lent a buddy a pair of old style Pro-line rubber chest waders. We were trout fishing in Fulton county, it was hot, and he polished off a quart of Mad Dog. He threw up in the waders. I threw them in the first dumpster we passed. Of course this was back in the day, don't really loan stuff out any more. Still like a snort of MD 20/20 occasionally though!

Slick its just sweat from what your saying. Happens to mine all the time when its warm out. Just a reminder turn those waders inside out every once in awhile and let the inside dry out. If you dont after some time they will start to smell a littlle foul.. Anyways how do you like them?

It could be sweat if it's symmetrical. All breathable waders will leak at some point.. when is the question. They've leaked the first time out and other times it took four years. Get what you pay for but even the expensive ones will eventually leak.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

Slick, way to warm to be wearing waders.
If you're wearing jeans, you'll definitely know if ya have a leak.
    cotton sucks under waders.
For hot days, get a pair of those zip-off stlye pants.
    for cold,,,fleece wading pants.
    It's all about comfort.

Telling Slick he can't wear jeans would be like telling Letterman he cant wear a toupee ( spelling )
Putting shorts on Slick would be like you going out of the house naked.

    BH,

I could see slick skipping the jeans for some camos, preferably with deer blood stains.

You can substitute the made for wading fleece for TJ Maxx/Wally World or other fleece pants for about $10.  Besides comfort, I'm pretty sure the sturdy fabric pants like jeans (especially the seems) will eventually rub some damage into your breathable wader material (multiple layers of fabric glued together).

The made for wading fleece do have the elastic ankles, but tucking the bottoms of fleece pants into socks does the same thing.  If you can find some wading fleece on sale or don't mind the extra $20-$30, they probably are the way to go.  I personally have 2 pairs of regular fleece, one thicker for cooler and one thinner for warmer water.  I rarely sweat in the thinner (although I do the shorts thing in the Summer, unless I am fishing the rivers).

Washing them every so often (Nikwax if yours are Goretex) will make them last for a long time.
