Navionics Hotmaps

On my current chip I can only zoom to 1/4 mile, is this due to my unit or the chip itself? I am considering buying the 2010 chip and wonder if it would allow me to zoom closer...thanks

I never buy the "new" chip, buy them a year behind and you'll save a bunch of cash. Not much changes from one year to the next...

My unit is a lowrance ifinder, and my chip is an '03 (i got it for like $5 on ebay). I want to upgrade to a humminbird 365i gps/fishfinder and cabelas just put the 2010 chips on sale for $95 so a trip to wheeling might be in my near future. I was hesitant to buy a fishfinder/gps combo if it would only show the same thing as my ifinder but i'm thinking that the combo would make things a lot easier anyway

I use the LMS Lowrance series (a few years old) with HoyMaps and mine only zooms in to 1/4 mile as well.
