new rod for steelies

Well picked me up a new rod for steelies its' a st croix
legand elite 10 ft 7 wt. Was wondering if anyone had one and how do they do one the water. thanks

    You got a good one. Ideal length, wt, for erie sthd. Friend of mine has the same rod, loves it. I have a loomis 10 ft 7wt glx classic that gets used a lot for erie sthd. $600 rod. Your rod is just as good.

    Good choice and good on the bigger non-PA streams, too.
     
    Your going to be able to roll out some serious weight when you need.
    I don't have your particular rod but I do use an 8 ft 4wt Legend Elite for trout and is a very smooth casting rod that's not overly tippy.
    If the taper is similar, you'll enjoy that stick.
    Now you have a reason to buy that reel you always wanted to match the rod.
