Would YOU mount it?

Went Bass fishin' at local strip ponds today. Got a largemouth that went 24" with a 16" girth. Think it's big enough to mount? I threw it back after pics and measurements. I was thinking about a fiberglass mount....

Rip, that is a very large bass. If you want one on the wall, that would be the ONE !!!! GOOD Job. They don't grow on trees at that size.....WF

Yea, I know. I always feel guilty about killing a fish that big and throw it back. I've caught SO many bigguns' over the years I wanted to get mounted and all I got on the wall is a 31"" Brown Trout. Thanks for the complimenr WF.

    Nice fish..
It's got to be your call on the wall..
If it's a fish "you" want to look at for the rest of your life, then go for it..
Personally I throw back everything except legal eyes and fish for the wall..
I would have absolutely no qualms about mounting a large fish of any species....
24" Largemouth is my goal for a Bass mount...I'd have stuffed him....

If it's on the wall you get to admire it the rest of your life. It will also be a reminder of the day you had. If it was enjoyable, that's always a day to remember. Imo.

rip, that is one heck of a fish.  i have seen some beautiful reps, also.  i would do it.  i had my first steelhead mounted and really wish now that i would have had a replica done instead, but they weren't around at the time.  again, nice fish, nice release.

IMO you did the right thing. I have two replicas 31 inch eye that weighted 13lbs and a 52 inch muskie. i look at them every day, i does not cheapen my experence, or excitment. I am not affraid to tell anyone they are replicas,i do and everyone tells me they look real.

Great fish and good decision, if you want a replica i would see if Fittante does Large mouths, i had him make my fish. TOP notch google his name

I don't doubt you released it. But I don't think you tossed it back in any "stip pond"

    Nice feeeesh

I have to say that's a nice fish. There's a pond down at my families camp that has some huge bass, last one I caught was 26 1/4. I always throw them back though, I figure let them get bigger I just love the fight.

    Again nice fish, good call
