FishErie Freezeout 2010 Update

We're just a few days away! I wanted to update a few items for this Saturday:

I will park just off the stink hole and mark my suv with a large FishUSA logo. I will be on the ice around 6:30 a.m. and will mark my hut (Blue Clam Jr.) with a large "Don't Tread On Me" flag (Yellow). You wont miss it. Sign-in at my hut between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., fishing starts at 8 a.m. and ends at Noon. We will all meet at my hut at 12:30 for prizes and awards.

A steelhead won biggest fish last time. If you catch a steelie and dont want to keep it, bring it to my hut for measurement and we put it back. All other fish will be keepers and we will measure and count fish at 12:30. Bring a bucket.

Also, I will not be keeping food in my hut so everyone please work together and plan if you are bringing food.

There is no fee to join in, just sign up by Friday afternoon.

If anyone has any other questions, send me a pm.

-Jay

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know, I had a chili makin' party last night...

I think there should be plenty for all, I've never ran out at a gathering yet.
I have enough bowls/cups/spoons for around 4 dozen people. Enough chili for at least 100 bowls.
Feel free to bring your favorite bowl or spoon.

    A couple things....
*B.Y.O.T/R* ~ Bring Your Own Tums or Rolaids...
    antacids WILL NOT be provided.
Speaking of antacids, it might be a bit much for kids, or those who don't like spices....
    it's not too hot, just....bold.
If this includes you...sorry, bring a can of tomato soup, I have a single burner stove you can use to warm it on.
Any food allergies, feel free to ask...but I ain't givin' the recipe out...without serious persuasion.

I'll be set up in the general proximity of Jay (eyeofhorus) I'll be in all camo w/ a red & black hat.
I figure a good time to eat would be following the fish weigh in at 12:30.
    Sound good?

    Looking forward to it.

    Hello,
I'm a LECOM student but I fish a lot when I have free time. I've been following this ice fishing forum all winter long and am going to come out Saturday morning to meet some of the people who have provided such nice reports all year.

This year was my first try at ice fishing and unfortunately I haven't had much luck but I enjoy the fishing none the less. I remain hopeful that tomorrow morning will finally be my day. I look forward to meeting you all.

I've all ready checked at weather.com for the forecast but can someone tell me what the roads and the conditions are currently like up there and what your best guess is for tomorrow.

I've got 2,  4 foot snow drifts at each end of my 50 yard driveway and I'm not sure what the middle is like. I'm hoping to get after it if this wind down here ever lets up. The winds are scheduled to let up after 5 but who knows how accurate the weather channel on tv is.

I would like to say for sure that I will be there tomorrow but I may not be able to make it. I may show up with my 4yr. old just to fish for a few hours as I am not sure how long he will handle the fishing. If we're out we'll stop by and say hi anyways, I will have the frabill trekker II on skiis with my little man ridding in the hut on the way out. Hopefully we'll make it but if not have fun out there!!

The roads here in Erie do not seem to be icy, but there is alot of snow. Who knows with the weather here. It could turn out to be nice tomorrow. I know the wind has been north/west this week. That always seems to get good things coming out of the water!

    Hey guys,

Make sure you report that pork'n'bean chili on your taxes next year after the libs redo the tax code!!

You need to pay hazardous-gas taxes of 50 cents per bowl due to the release of methane azzgas you let off as a result.

Pork'n'Bean chili is no good for the environment so the govt says its bad and we shouldnt eat it.
