Gator Info

Thinking about taking the kids to Disney in a year or two from now. My wife just gave me the ok to do a gator hunt while we're there. I've searched on line and found numerous outfitters, but wanted some 1st hand info if anybody has any. I'm not looking for a trophy hunt, just a gator in the 7-8' range.(trophy hunts are way to much $), gotta spend it on the kids at the park. Also looking for a good taxi guy down there that will do a front shoulder & head mount as well. Any info would be great. Thanks !

Just saw a program on the outdoor chhannel tonight that featured fred eichler and he was actually decoying and calln the gators in. before i watched this program i had no interest in gator hunting i mean what could be hard about shooting an animal laying/sleeping on shore catchn some sun rays, but after watching him hunt these things i reserved a spot on the "bucket list" for gator hunting. i actually just returned form florida tuesday and saw a ton of gators actually while your going to the parks if you look at some of the little fenced in ponds that are in the parks parking lot they usually have a couple gators in them. and if u make it down towards the space center there is a long stretch of water right off the road there and i saw tons of gators in there and one was atleast 10 feet he was huge

Had a similar opportunity with Fred. He is a riot in person. Got to BS for about 3 hours.

just looked about going in florida and the gator tag for non resident is over $1200! a resident is only 50 dollars seems like it would almost be cheaper to go on a preserve where you dont have to pay the license fee

Maybe yes, but how would I get my head home to give it to someone. Hard enough to ship back the meat. I'd rather leave it there and have a Fla guy do it and have it shipped when its done.
