Well...After 8 weeks of work, I got the boat launched...quite the bitter sweet moment. I took the president and CEO of my favorite company "BloodyHands Hitch installation/ boat restoration/tire and haircare center" with me. Duud thinks like me....quickly in an emergency...good duud to have along.

Everything at the launch went as smoothly as it could go..except I think I didn't park the trailer fast enough...you can probably see my buddies subtle impatience with me:












The boat handles great....I took on ZERO water...felt stable and safe...I'm lovin it! We get out into the Bay and open her up. I don't have high expectations...I know my boat is heavvv-y. I topped out at a whopping 6.7 mph. I was more than a little dissapointed...I was hoping for 10. The motor runs great, starts easy...just my boat is SLOWWWW. Love the boat....little less love for the motor. I'm gonna work somethin out before next spring.

As I'm bein salty about the speed of my motor, I finally got ahold of myself. I quickly realised I'm way better off than last year. And will be even better next. Still worth my time and money.

Change your prop, if you are that concerned about it........Nice!

Excellent thread Slick, I know first hand the time you put in, as I did my dads 19ft. starcraft. Very rewarding thow ay, still wating for the maiden voyage as i got it done just before winter. Awsome job on your little tug. It looks great.

That sucks hat all of your hard work is for sale so soon.  Hopefully you are replacing with another!
 
BTW - runs like a bear is kind of funny sounding...  Usually something is a "bear" brings thoughts of stubborn to mind?
