Get the Courtland loops. They act like chinese finger cuffs. Cut the look off and connect both lines and then place some zap gap on the connection.

I thought this was gonna ask about leader connections....IF your trying to connect two different pieces of flyline together I DONT recommend that at all... if your worried about distance, thats what backing is for!

You might want to do a search for spey rodder forums.
I made a homemade interchangeable sinktip system where I could still attach the floating tip. Kind of what you get now when you buy a packaged interchangeable tip system. I used the braided connectors. I tried the welded loop method but it didn't run through the guides as well.

I am playing with ways to go from indicator fishing to sort of a chuck and swing{I hate the term chuckand duck} method with all the advantages of both. So if I can quickly connect a 12-15ft length of running line to my floating line. Bingo!

    neophyte,
Here's the link to that article I refereed to.
One bit of advice is to make sure you have the correct size loop connectors. Take the line with you. The connectors are usually sold by line tip size and thats not what you're connecting.

Thanks, I think I will try using a very short section of 30lb amnesia to join the lines with two loop to loop connections.
